Mark' Finest Paper Challenge 70-Black Eyed Susan

Today's Challenge at Speedy the Cat Friend's challenge is to use "lace" on your card. I used Mark's Finest Papers Black Eye Susan for Encouragement Stamp. The sentiment is from Sand Surf Relax. What a fun challenge. I love lace on cards. For my card I used Martha Stewart's Punch Around the Page Vintage Lace. There is also some real lace trim on the card that I found at Walmart. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. The pearls I received in a RAK.

You know, I don't use stick pins much on my cards. Can you believe I actually figured out how to attach this cute little charm with them. It is a much cooler was to attach the charm then by hooking it on the ribbon. The charm stays straight so you can actually see it.

Here is a picture of my decorated envelope with my easel card. Sure hope you can join us this week for the challenge. Remember you have a chance to win a fabulous Mark's Finest Papers Stamp by entering. Have a great weekend and stay safe for those of you in the path of Hurricane Irene!

Gurlee Girl Halloween Cat

It is fast approaching my favorite time of year. The other week when I was cleaning and rearranging my crafting room, I came across my Christmas and Halloween things and have had the urge to use my goodies I got on clearance last year at the end of the season!

Don't you just love the Gurlee Girl Halloween Cat from Chelsea at Crafting Life's Pieces. Chelsea is so talented. Just go to her blog and see her awesome creations. Another one of my blogging friends is on the design team as well, Bonnie from Sassy Scrapper. Her creations just make me drool. So it was a natural inclination to participate in the Crafting Life's Pieces Sketch Challenge. Here is the fabulous sketch for this month:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch. The haunted house is a Sizzix die cover in Martha Stewart Glitter. Last year I picked up this package of Martha Stewart Halloween Glitter. The black glitter was in the pack along with several other colors. The black is called Licorice and boy is is awesome. It shines black, yellow, and green. My paper is from K & Company. The "too Cute to Spook sentiment is now at Walmart in the $.97 bins in the scrapbooking area. It's perfect isn't it! Don't you love that cute spider sticker too! The moon and bats are also a sticker along with the jack-o-lantern.

This is my matching envelope. Did I mention how much I love this Haunted House die. What a fun card this was to make. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are inspired to make some fall and Halloween cards.

Mark' Finest Paper Challenge 69-Just Dandy

Hooray for weekends. Don't know about you but I am looking forward to the down time and a few swims in the pool. The challenge this week at Speedy's Friends is embossing either heat or dry. Please go to Mark's Finest Papers Blog to get all the information and to load your card.

My image is called Just Dandy from Mark Finest Papers and you can find it here. Isn't it fantastic! I did both heat and dry embossing. I just had to see if I could make a Dandelion to go with my image and it worked out pretty well. I used a cuddlebug quilling die to make it. This card measures 5x6-3/4". Pretty odd huh. Well truth be told I started with the image and worked down to the card. I usually start with the card and work up to the image.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate your visit. Hope you have a great relaxing weekend!

Mark' Finet Paper Challenge 68-Wisteria of Encouragement

Welcome to another addition of Speedy the Cat and Friends Challenge. The challenge this week is distressing. I have both ink distressing and paper edge distressing. The Tim Holtz distressing tool came in real handy for the paper behind my PATP layer. I love that tool!

The image on this card is from Mark' Finest Papers called Wisteria of Encouragement. I decided to do the "Brick Wall" technique on this card with this pretty image. You can find it here at Mark's Finest Papers. The white flourish corners are chipboard from Recollection that I picked up in a package some time ago on sale for $1.99. The roses are prima flower. My Paper is K & Company. The large and medium butterflies are a Martha Stewart Punch.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great weekend.

Here is my version of the Black Eyed Susan of Encouragement. My image is colored with copic marker. I used K & Company Tom Coffey papers. The corners and leave are Sizzx dies and I used the Cherry Blossom punch around the page by Martha Stewart. The accent flowers are one of the dies from the Carnation Creation from Spellbinders. I used some buttons for the centers that I had in my stash. I also used a sharpie to draw the accent on the flower to match the ones in the image.

Mark's Finest Papers Challenge-Down on the Farm

We're on our way.
We're on our way.
On our way to Grandpa's farm.
We're on our way.
We're on our way.
On our way to Grandpa's farm.

Down on Grandpa's farm there is a black and white cow.

The cow, she makes a sound like this: "Mooooooo."
The cow, she makes a sound like this: "Mooooooo."

Greetings everyone. Well today is another challenge over at Mark's Finest Papers. Our Challenge this week is to make any shaped card other than the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. You can join us at the challenge here for a chance to win a beautiful Mark's Finest Paper stamp set.

I had to start my post with this song. When I started this card I could not stop singing this song. So I built a barn from this template here. I cut out the barn on red paper. I scored it every 1/2 inch and then took a ruler and sharpie and drew a line on the score lines for the shingles on this barn. I cut the white paper in 1/4" strips and lined the doors and inside the doors. I used a scrap of cardstock for the silo and a triangle for the roof on the silo. The trees are a sizzx die and the fence is a Martha Stewart Punch.

This is what the barn looks like . I really think it is so cute and interactive to-which makes it so fun. Here is the barn with the doors open. We have a cow, pig, and horse. Notice who's in the loft.....I couldn't resist putting Speedy the Cat from the set in the loft. He is even wearing a straw hat.

Are you singing Old McDonald Had a Farm yet??? lol This card is going to Hugs and Hope for Sick Kids. I made two cards this week for this cause hoping that we would make our goal of sending a card to every card on the list!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. I hope you can play with us!

Here is the card and matching envelope together. I bought this from Stamp & Create with a gift certificate that I won from the challenges I play....how cool is that. I love this stamp!See what I did with the stamp. I cut it in half and use the girl on the bottom and the boy on the top....pretty cool huh! This is the sentiment on the inside:
Cookies and cocoa
and gingerbread spice...
Hope your holidays
are full of

Hugs and Hope for Sick Kids-MFP All Aboard

Today is Teapot Challenge Tuesday. I love to play this challenge and send my card to someone n need. This week our cards are going to Hugs and Hope for Sick Kids. Our challenge was to make a Blue, Green, and Yellow card.

My card was made with the stamp called "All Aboard" from Mark Finest Papers which you can find here.

I found the perfect little joke on the internet to include with my train!
And the answer is:

I loved this stamp. I was able to use the train, the sentiment, the railroad crossing signs and this locomotive image you see here. Lots of options to create your card.

Thanks for stopping by. I am going to have a lot more this week.
