Green Friendship Card

A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world

Well, it's still raining in Georgia and this song by Ray Charles keeps popping up in my brain. I really love the rain though as it doesn't make me feel guilty about staying in just drinking tea, having the crock pot going with a roast and basically reading a good book. It's kind of comforting. Anyway, I got a call to go for an interview tomorrow and I am a nervous wreck. I am hoping I won't be wheezing tomorrow, that these terrible tasting Steroids will not be for naught. This coming from a person that has interviewed hundreds of people....you know it's different when you are the one sitting across the table being interviewed......wish me luck!

This is another card from VSN at SCS. The challenge was to use only green and one neutral. I inked the butterfly stamp with Versa Magic in Oasis Green, Tea Leaves, and Spanish Moss. The Hedi Grace quote was inked in the Spanish Moss. I used a flower punch for the flowers and sponged them each in the Versa Magic ink, used a green flower brad to secure them. Splashed on a little stickles!
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo-Patterned Bugs, Hedi Grace-Quotes
Ink: Versa Magic-Oasis Green Tea Leaves, Spanish Olive
Accessories: Floral Brad, ribbon, stickles
Techniques: Sponging

Kitty Thank You

Well it is raining here in Georgia for the third consecutive day and it is quite cool outside for May. I would not have even gone out if I was not sick again. I knew yesterday when I tried to vacuum that something was definitely going on with me when my rescue inhaler wasn't cutting it. Went to the Doctor's today, and sure enough, I am having bronchial spasms again. After going to the Doctor's, I went straight to the Library and picked up six books. I am going to be on Steroids again, so I have to plan my night roaming, cause that stuff doesn't let you sleep all that well. Maybe I can make some more cards!!! lol

This card was another one I made for VSN at Splitcoast stampers. It was for the lucky seven challenge (that's why there are 7 rhinestones). You had to have seven embellishments on your card. I got excited making this card. It was just one of them that went together like a charm. I was trying to expose 7 fish bones, but it didn't work out. That's alright cause I like the rhinestones real well.
Stamps: Cat-JRL Design Meow/Fish-Meow-Allnight Media
Paper: Citrus Stack
Accessories: Nesties, ribbon, rhinestones

Sweet Cupcake Birthday

May is a month that I need lots of Birthday cards. So what better way to add to my stash than to participate in Virtual Stamp Night over at SCS in the "Double Down" challenge. You had to do two cards with the same theme. I will be mailing one of these cards out today to my Mom because her Birthday is this Friday, May 22. Bless her heart, she will be turning 76 years old. She tells me that she has all the cards I made her displayed on her pantry doors so she can look at them. She is not going to see her pantry doors soon....I'll tell ya. lol

Ladybug Friendship

Ladybugs are said to be good luck! I remember several years ago I had an infestation of ladybugs in the uppermost corner of my bedroom window. When I would go to bed and read at night, I would look up at the ceiling and see these cute bugs walking across my ceiling. I did not have the heart to take them out of their happy home. So, I left them alone until they just disappeared. After that one year, they never came back.

Today's card was for the VSN challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. This particular challenge was that you could only use red and black with white. I immediately thought of this card that I have been wanting to do for a while. I had found this DP at Michael's a few weeks back, and it was perfect. I just love these ladybugs. The sentiment inside my card reads:

This Ladybug of friendship
I've sent to you today
Comes with hope, joy & happiness
to last throughout your day

Recipe
Stamp - Inkadinkadoo Gemstone insects
Spellbinders-Labels 1
Fiskars border punch-(just a side note, I LOVE them. they punch so easy compare to MS)
Red polkadot ribbon
Black Pigment Ink
Red marker for coloring the ladybugs

Thanks for stopping by on your leisurely Sunday. I am still working on more Challenges. So stay tuned for more additions.

Song In My Heart

Good afternoon. I am participating in the VSN over at Splitcoast Stampers. This is the first of four cards for May 15. We were to use bananna, caramel, and cocoa for our color choices and use a music theme. Who could resist this cute little girl with the kitty cat on her piano as my image? She is so adorable. I had fun coloring her. I actually colored her twice as she is 3D. The sentiment just popped into my head while I was coloring. "Having a Friend Like You Puts a Song in My Heart! I have a few friends who play musical instruments that this would be perfect to send to. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more of my VSN contributions.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you. Hope you are having a wonderful day. This is a card I made today. I broke from the usual stamp and tried an image from this website Arthur's Free Clipart. I just love Sugar Nellies and can't afford to get many right now. But, this little girl speaks to my heart with her sweet face and cute little outfit. I colored this with pencils and used baby oil. I used a corner punch for a designed corner to slip my dp into. A white sheer ribbon was used to tie the bow. A simple card to make, but oh so sweet. Thanks for stopping by. See ya soon!

Hydrangea Mother's Day Card

This card is going off to Connecticut in the mail this morning to my Mom. I just love this stamp. I will be making different variations of this one for a while. I want to do the Hydrangeas in pink next. I was in Lowe's on Saturday and they had Hydrangeas. Oh, I just couldn't leave the garden section. So many beautiful flowers and plants. I want some succulents next. I already have aloe vera, but I love the hens and chicks. I am going to lunch today with a friend and am going to swing by Lowe's to drool. lol Have a great Wednesday!

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Rubber Stampede-imaged stamped more than once as I cut out some of the little flowers and the leaves and stuck them on with pop dots for a 3-D effect.
Colored with pencils and blended with baby oil in voilet, purple, and blue for the flower
Tea dyed Distress Ink was used around all dp and cs
Accessories: Round scalloped nesties, stickles, gross grain ribbon

Stayed tune for more cards coming up. I am trying another new technique for me with something called Liquid Embossing. It is a glassy dimensional tint for paper. OMG, I love the look of it. This is probably something everyone else has done and I am behind, but I have never been to a class for stamping and have taught myself everything by researching.

Thanks for stopping by.

Prom Dress Inspiration Card

This card is from the Saturday Inspiration Challenge on SCS. We were to be inspired by prom dresses at Faviana.com. This is my dress inspiration Marcia Cross. This dress is gorgeous with all the flowers. Unfortunately, I didn't go to my Junior or Senior prom because you had to have a date in my time to go. When I was in High School, I was to unattractive and shy to get a date. But, when I was 34 years old, I got to go to my husband's college prom. It was fabulous. He was so sick that night too, I remember he did not cancel out because he thought it was so important to take me to my first prom. We were dating then....guess you know why I married him!!!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo Doodle Flowers
Ink: Versa Magic Pink Petunia
Accessories: Martha Steward Border Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Rhinestones, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday!

Stamping at My House

My card is here at the left and Carole's is on the right.

My Card

Carole's Card

What better way to spend your day than sharing love for stamping and crafting with a friend. Today my friend Carole came over and we made these two cards. They are both from the "Ways to Use It" challenges for last week and this week on SCS. We had so much fun creating these cards. We shared stamps, ideas, friendship, and great conversation. We had tea and scones and later some diet soda. One eventful happening was the uninvited guest that showed up in the afternoon......a nice good sized lizard....ran right underneath my couch. Yuck!!! My husband and son came home, and, wouldn't you know it, they couldn't find it......could it still be out there somewhere???? Thanks Carole for brightening up my day. It was wonderful.

The first card was done with a stamp Carole had. We made the flowers out of soda cans. We punched the flowers out, colored them with sharpies, and added a rhinestone in the middle. The card stock was embossed with cuddlebug folders. We also punches fronds and branches from the Martha Stewart punches.

On the second card we used a magnolia flower stamp Carole had, along with heart nesties, and 2 different cuddlebug embossing folders. We stamped with gold pigment ink. Border punches were used along with the fond and branch punch.

This is a great way to see different interpretations of basically the same design and stamps. Carole and I hope to get together again sometime soon and do this again. I encourage you to get together with your friends and make and share your crafts and memories.
