FIRST Fred She Said Challenge-Polka Dot Blossoms

Hi everyone! Today is the first ever Fred She Said Challenge. Be sure to hop on over to the Fred She Said Challenge blog and join us for this fun challenge. You can enter you card there for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to the Fred She Said Store.

Our challenge for this month is to use the Fred She Said Challenge Blog header and background as your inspiration for your card, layout, or alter project. This also qualifies for Vickie (basement stampers) Saturday Spotlight Challenge with Hidden Potential-to use yellow in your creation!
Here is mine!

This is a Birthday card that I created with Fred She Said Polka Dot Blossoms. This is the purple set. There are several color variations that come in your digi download. If you would like to see the red polka dot flowers click here for my project from yesterday of a Valentine card. I am a huge fan of Tracey's digis. They really highlight my card making style.
Now for the deets on my card. I used one sheet of the purple polka dot blossoms and the left over tea die colored ones from the red sheets I printed for my Valentine card. I cut out two Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendants and arranged my flowers on it. The center of the flowers have gold rhinestones I picked up in the $1 bin a Michael's.
There are several layers to this card. One of them has been sponged with Rangers Distressing Tea Dye Ink, and one has been sponged with versa magic purple ink. The gold feather looking element was from the floral dept in Michael's available at Christmas. The gold plate holding the Birthday Sentiment is from JoAnn's. The designer paper is from the Blossoms and Butterfly stack.
I used a Martha Stewart around the page punch and the butterflies are also a Martha Stewart punch with pearl accents. All the edges of the flowers were glittered with crystal stickles along with the butterflies.
I loved this card so much, I decided to create a Birthday poem to match the card. The Birthday wish goes like this:

A Birthday Wish on your special day
For sunshine and flowers coming your way.
May happiness bloom like the flowers of Spring,
Each day filled with the joy their petals will bring.
Wishing you a flourishing garden of beauty and pleasure,
For a day filled with contentment beyond measure!

Thanks for dropping by to view my contribution to the Fred She Said Challenge. Be sure to check out all the Design teams cards for more inspiration. I would be honored if you left me a comment to let me know what you think of this one! Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.

Midnight Madness Challenge #38 Vintage Lady

Here we are with #38 for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. Today's card is a D'Amour Alure Rubber Stamp called Estella Vintage Lady and can be found here at McMahon Five Designs. I love vintage style cards and pulled out some of my vintage buttons I have been saving to create this.

My image was colored with pencils and blended. The image is a total of three layers that have been popped up. I stickled around the edges and added tiny rhinestones down each side of her lace placket. My buttons are the old fashion type that have metal shanks on the back. I sat at my craft table trying to figure out how I could manipulate them to attach on this card. So I got out my pliers and were able to compress the button so it would lie flat.
I felt that I wanted to take this card to another level. So I created a poem for the inside that I thought would reflect on the theme of the image. It goes like this:

One your Birthday,
Put on your fancy clothes.
Your trinkets and jewelry,
And paint your toes.
It's time to celebrate,
Your special day.
In your own stylish,
Classy, fashionable way.
So bring out the baubles,
Bangles and glitz.
For a Birthday Celebration,
fit for the Ritz!

Fred She Said Polka Dot Blossoms

FGreetings everyone. Here is a Valentine card that I made using Fred She Said's Polka Dot Blossoms. I just love Tracey's flowers. Check them out here. The flowers are fun to work with and I love to manipulate them to bend and curl to my whimsy.
This card used almost two full sheets of flowers. I only had a couple left over. The hearts are a spellbinders die. I also used a Martha Stewart around the page punch and the lattice border punch to decorate this card. The heart pearls are from Michael's as well as the two size rhinestones in the center of the flower.
This is the inside of my card. The heart punch is from Martha Stewart, the corner treatments are a cuttlebug die cut and more Fred She Said Polka Dot Blossoms. The envelope is made from a kit from Priscillastyles and can be found here. A wonderful way to customize your cards. Hope you like viewing this. If you have time I would love for you to leave a comment to let me know what you think!!! Thanks so much.

P.S. Don't miss the first Fred She Said Challenge this Monday January 25. We have a fun challenge in store for you and wonderful design team submissions for you to view. Hope to see you there!!!

Midnight Madness Challenge #37-Teddy Stampers #2 Paper Pieced Bear

Welcome to my creation for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #37 and Teddy Stampers #2. This week I went with one of my own paper pieced bear patterns. I love this one because you can dress her up anyway you want and have her hold and abject to coordinate with your card theme.
I used the Martha Stewart lacey heart border punch, and the fancy tag spellbinders die cut for my embellishments.
On the inside I repeated the Martha Stewart Lacey Heart border punch, the spellbinders heart die cut, and the Martha Steward heart punch accented with some pearls. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card for this week's challenge and that you will consider joining us for this fun sketch.

Here is my creation from the BRAND NEW RELEASE of the "Fred She Said" design called

Smelling the Cherry Blossoms
Don't you just love this very sweet little girl. And the Cherry Blossoms are out of this world. I just had to use lots of them!!! I printed this digi on water color paper and water colored her and the flowers. I used gold stickles in the center of the flower for the stamen and crystal stickles for the outline.

This is the front of the card with the envelope that I also created to go along with it. The image has been popped up along with the Cherry Blossoms for a 3-D effect. I used the new Lattice Martha Stewart border punch and an exclusive Cuttlebug folder on the black background that looks like basket weave.

This is a better view of the matching envelope. It is made from a kit from Priscillastyles found here. The corner dies are from Sizzx and so is the leafy branch under the Cherry Blossoms. I also used the scalloped Spellbinders die.

This is the inside of my card. I used all the same elements, but in a different composition to match the front. I hope that you have enjoyed viewing this card and will find some inspiration for your own creation! I really enjoyed putting this together and was so inspired by the image...I couldn't help myself!!! LOL

Fred She Said-Lovely Pink Blossoms

Wow, is it cold here in Southeast Georgia. I am not used to it anymore. It's going to be in the teen's here Saturday morning. I have to report that this week the weather killed my Vinca's & Begonia's and the one Pansy that had bloomed at Christmas is gone. So with that in mind, I had to create something with pretty flowers to look at!!!
These flowers are digi's from Fred She Said. This particular file has several different colors and configurations on it. You can check them out here in the Lovely Butterfly and Blossom Kit. This is a nice close up to show all the layers of flowers I used. The die cut is from Spellbinders called lattice and the corner treatments are another die that comes in that set. I am also in love with the "Around the Page" punches by Martha Stewart-this one is called Deco Shell.
You can see on the inside of my card, I really played with the punches. I can't tell you how much I love them. I have more cards coming with other punches that I got for Christmas that I played with. They really spice up your cards!!! Notice I made a little pocket here and altered a small notepad to fit inside. It's such a nice touch to send a little gift in your card!
I absolute love these flowers. You can manipulate them by cutting down to the center then bending them in the directions you want the petals to go. I curved mine down. If you would like to see a tutorial...just let me know.

So, I will be back with more cards soon, as I got all my Christmas decorations down and put away. I put up my Valentine Tree and I will share a picture of that soon with you. I am in the process of doing a good cleaning (too cold to wash windows though...LOL) and once I vaccume, I will take a picture of it. Thanks for dropping in...stay warm!!!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #35-Raspberry Cupcake

Yum....don't you just love cupcakes? I know I do. My favorite cupcake is made with a white cake mix, filled with a cream cheese and chocolate chip mixture, topped with fudge frosting. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!! LOL This cupcake is perfect for all of us who have made their New Year's Resolution concerning weight.....as there are no calories!!! It's too pretty to eat!!! My image is from this week's sponsor Sunflowers and Dragonflies.

I adore this stamp and Beth has several cupcake images to choose from at her store. I had lots of fun creating the layers (there are four-4) and I water colored the image too! I forgot how much fun that is as I haven't done it for a while. I made the flower from the same dp as I used on the card, but I drenched it with water and scrunched it up and let it dry. It gave it a better effect than just a punched flower.
