Greetings blog friends and neighbors. Welcome to another Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I am home from my visit to my Mom's house. We had an awesome visit and I also got to visit with my best friend Karen which was such a pleasure. The Airline experience we had would best be described to you in a stand up Comic Club by my husband and I. We would have you in stitches for the story we have to tell of what we went through. If there was any other means of transportation that wasn't so time constraint....I would use it!!!
Now to this weeks sketch...it's "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between.
Just have fun and come play with us :)

The Beary Scrap is a small, family owned, independent scrapbook store located in Shavertown, Pennsylvania and originated as on online business. They have lots of hard to find scrapbook goodies to feed your paper crafting desires and continue to add our products to the website weekly, so there is lots more to come. Best of all, because they are such a small business... when the "big guy" or "gal" sells out, chances are they still have it in stock. You have to go take a look at their site, because they have such cute stuff!!
How fun is that?? Thank you so much Kimberly :)

Michelle has offered our Aug monthly winner this wonderful prize worth $100
Thank you Michelle :)
My card this week was made with a digital image from Michelle Perkett called Snow Fairy. She is so pretty. I colored her flowers in gold and stickled them. The holly was colored with a glitter gel roll pen. I used tinsel glitter on my snowflakes. I tried to shape the image to fit the sketch. Hope you join in the fun this week. I can't wait to visit to see what you created!
NOW we are on Facebook!! Yes, that is right..we are jumping on the bandwagon there too. Good luck! I really hope you hear back from the interviewers. Perhaps this was just a busy week for them? *Fingers crossed.*
ReplyDeleteYes, the 80-hours-per-week job is a salaried admin/assistant position at a bank. I think there's a performance-based bonus as well, but I can't imagine anyone giving an assistant a big bonus package. The company could definitely hire two people to work 40 hours a week each instead of one exhausted, overworked individual. Oh well. Hopefully they won't hire me. :)
Hello!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I love the image and the colors and what you did with the layout!
I am familiar with the Tear Bears and love them - it is nice to have a link to their site and I see they also have a blog!
Wishing you a great weekend!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Thanks for sharing your background. I'm sorry you were let go from the bank under those circumstances. Glad to hear that you're all better now! :) And glad to hear that your family was able to get involved in your career. Are you hoping to stay within that same industry? I heard the banks have been doing better now--hopefully they'll start hiring soon.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went in to interview for the assistant position, I couldn't tell if my interviewers were trying to sell me on the job or warn me to run in the other direction! Almost everything they said revolved around the long hours and the unimaginable amounts of stress. It was always, "This is a really stressful job. You won't be able to have any personal obligations, make personal commitments, etc. The hours will be long sometimes, very long. And very stressful. Did I mention the long hours? Oh, I almost forgot--I absolutely love working here!"
Hi Carol!! WOW!! What a FABULOUS card you have made this week! Love the color combo and your image fits so well with it!! Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

I think this sketch is a REAL challenge Carol, but you did a fabulous job on this with Michelle's digi. This looks so sweet!! Since I now try to do my project ahead for preschedule due to my busy DTs and family event, it's hard to do the MMSC, but when one of full time DT term ended end of this month, I might have more time to join :o)
