Guess what time it is? Yes, it's Saturday and time for Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge. Our hostess with the mostess Patty challenges us to use die cuts in the background this week. I have used Mark's Finest Papers "Sand Surf Relax" images this week. It's summer time and what an awesome set this is!So let me tell you a little about my card. Be sure to watch my video where I show you how to make your own Glimmer Mist for a fraction of the price! My husband was cleaning out the garage this past weekend. While I was walking by I saw this piece of cheese cloth that he was going to throw away. I rescued it from the trash bin and brought it to my craft room. Sassyscraper (Bonnie) had used some cheesecloth one time on a card and I love it. I'll tell ya girls, this piece is pretty old..... probably 17 years old because I remember why I bought it!!! lol But I love it that way. See what I did with it on this card?! It looks pretty cool and goes with this beach scene!!! I have enough to last me a while-I think I should buy more to put back in the garage to "age" naturally.... Oh my gosh my husband will have a fit!! lol
Here's the video. It cost $1.47 for the paint and you can make at least 4 bottles of glimmer mist with it. WOW!!!!

ReplyDeleteYou are blowing me away with this card, Carol! This is so fabulous, with all those seaside details. And the story about your cheesecloth made me laugh. :) My hubby would've been trying to pry it out of my hands as I tried to 'recycle' it for a card! (he's all about cleaning out and getting rid of stuff; I'm all about looking on the ground for bits and pieces to bring home for a card)

Wow, what a clever way to incorporate the challenge into your creation. Thanks for sharing on the Belli challenge.
ReplyDeleteThat glimmer mist you made is gorgeous, but unfortunately my internet is so slow, and my sound card is defective so I have no sound that I have no idea how you made it. You couldn't add what you mixed the paint with and the proportions to your post for those of us living in the boonies could you? I wouls appreciate it so much!
ReplyDeleteI live on an island in eastern Maine, so I really love your card!
To Answer your question-I filled the bottle that i bought that is the same size of the paint bottles 3/4 full with water then filled the rest of the bottle with the paint. Thanks for asking and good luck with your projects.
Deletewow, this is awesome..cheap too :)
