Heartfelt Creations Chateau Gateway

Welcome to my blog.  Today is Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  For my card today I used the Chateau Gateway.  If you are anything like me, you have an imagination that just makes you wonder what lies behind that pretty door.  Let's make this fun........Leave me a comment and tell me what you think lies beyond the door?????
When I was a little girl and my parents we go for rides, I used to love to look at houses and yards and picture the images of families inside the houses and what the inside looked like from what I could see behind the window in the back seat of the card.  My imagination takes to to a place where if you opened the doors it would open to a beautiful garden with walkways that lead to a big brick house that would match the brick in the gateway in the scene on my card.

For this card I wanted a little dimension so I cut out the door and mounted it on 1/16" foam squares and I cut out the archway and mounted it on 1/4" foam squares so it was a little higher than the door.  It looks pretty IRL.  I tried to photograph it here.  These are the products I used:

HCPC3441 – Chateau Gateway PreCut Set
HCPC 3449 Door To My Heart PreCut Set
HCD 718 Decorative Chateau Gate
HCD 717 Layered Scalloped Posy Die

Other:  Martha Stewart Small Hydrangea Punch, Martha Stewart Deep Edge Iron Fence Punch,Twine, and Pearls, designer paper of choice, black and green cardstock.

Thank you for popping in to see me today.  I can't wait to hear what you think lies beyond the door.  Have a great day!

  1. Beautiful, Carol. I imagine opening those doors and seeing a beautiful home with immaculate gardens and behind the house is an ocean/sea. Oh, I want to live there. LOL
All the sets you used helped to make this a gorgeous card. Of course, your clever ideas took it over the top.

  2. Hello my dear, Ok so you may think this funny or odd but my door would open up to a beautiful barn filled with horses of every kind. I can picture some nibbling on their hay or rolling around on their backs. I think it's so funny when they do that. In the corner is a horse getting a rub down after a vigerous ride. On the walls are glorious saddles that smell of leather. This may lead you to believe that my dream is to own a horse ranch and you'd be exactly right. So thanks for giving me this beautiful image today.

  11. Beautiful card with so many nice details!! Love those little flowers - they look like a vine growing on the brick wall. Really like how you used the die cuts to give an illusion of iron work.

  13. Okay, I'm guessing that this is the side door to a beautiful old church. That's what I picture! And I could totally see myself walking down the street, encountering this scene. You've captured it so well!
