Cottage Cutz Dies Go Shabby Chic

You are not going to believe how adventurous I got with this card and these dies!  Before I tell you how I accomplished this Shabby Chic Little number, let me show you the dies-then I will explain.

Ok, so you see this die right above here with the bright pretty colors.  Well I cut my pieces out of card stock in exactly the colors you see in this picture-bright and vivid.  What I did to make them pastel was to spray paint them with white paint.  YES, you read correctly.  I sprayed painted them with a .99 can of white paint you can pick up at your local Walmart.  How did the little pieces not go flying everywhere-well that was easy.  I made a loop with scotch tape and put my little pieces right on it and stuck them on a piece of scrap card board.  They stuck just fine and the pieces came off the tape perfectly.  I first saw this technique here.

Just remember not to over spray-you want a little color to show through.  The Cottage Cutz Magnolia Doily Die is located under the shabby chic flowers I made with some punches.  The leaves on the flowers were sprayed white-but the flowers were white to begin with.  I just used some picket fence crackle paint on them and sprinkled glitter.

Cottage Cutz Blog Hop

For my blog hop project I chose the Filigree Butterflies.  I created a lattice background to showcase these awesome butterflies with a spellbinders die.  You will find a video at the end of the post showing how I did that.

I heat embossed my butterflies with Blue Tinsel embossing powder to make them sparkle and shine like this.  Please refer to the video at the bottom of the post where I show how I did that as well.

You can form your butterflies while they are still warm to give them dimension and they will stay in that shape after they cool.  You can find this beautiful die cut here.

Heartfelt Creations Barnyard Elements

When I was coloring this image I was inspired by the wood panels in the barn.  I  thought how fun it would be to use that in a design element in the card so I created the left side of the card to look like the panels.  It was fun to do.

Cottage Cutz Flowers Clusters for Mother's Day

Mother's day is just around the corner and when I created this card I was thinking of my Mom.  The die is called "Flower Clusters" and I wanted to make it look like Lilac's so I added another layer of dimension to the die.  Oh this was so fun to make and went together quickly.  Please check out The Scrapping Cottage Blog for these fabulous dies.  They are so much fun to work with.

Here is a list of cuts you need to create this card:

The card base is a 6" x 12" piece of card stock folded in half.

The next piece is designer paper at 5-3/4" x 5-3/4"

5-1/2" x 5-1/2" is the next piece of paper

The black piece of card stock under the Fleur de Lis die is 4" x 4-3/4"

The designer paper on top of the  Fleur de Lis dis is 4" x 3"

The corners are  black card stock-cut 2 square 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" then cut diagonally to make the triangles

Heartfelt Creations Boxed Gift Tag Set

Greetings and welcome to the Heartfelt Creations Wednesday reveal.  We are working with the Western Elements Collection and this stamp is from the Woodland Growth set.  This is a 3 x 3 box that holds a set of 4 gift cards and envelopes inside a coordinating box.  You can find the tutorial here.

Cottage Cutz Lady Bug Gift Box

 

Greetings friends and bloggers.  Today I wanted to share with you this gift box I made for Cottage Cutz Die Cuts from The Scrapping Cottage.  I used the Ladybug and the Daisy Doily Dies.

This Ladybug is awesome.  So cute and so easy to put together.  All I did was cut the body with black card stock and the wings with red card stock.  I put some foam dimensional adhesive on the back of the wings and mounted it on the body.    My daisies are made with a punch and the centers are Martha Stewart Flocking.

 Here you can see a close up of these pretty Ladybugs which are "Good Luck" by the way! The Daisy doily was used as the base for this flower and bug arrangement.  I cut it down approximately 3/4 of the way and applied it to the top of the box.

 Here's the corner Ladybug at the bottom right of the box. 

Surprise!!!!  Now here is what is inside the box.  I bet you weren't expecting these little sweeties in here were you.  How could I resist not making something so cute with this die.

 They are paper clips.  All you have to do is assemble the Ladybug like I described above then cut one extra black body.  sandwich your paper clip between the Ladybug and the body piece and glue together-so easy and so cute.

I die cut a little leaf to place behine the Ladybug to make it look like the Ladybug was crawling on a leaf.  Here are the dies from Cottage Cutz that I used in this project.  Your can find them here:

Heartfelt Creations Criss Cross Pocket Card

It's Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  Welcome to my blog.  I am delighted you stopped by during you busy day to say hello.  Let's just say I am so thankful my neighbors have a wireless connect otherwise I would not be able to post this today as my internet has been down.   lol   This is how our internet provider got us running for now.  Yikes!!!

I always wanted to make one of these cards.  I thought it was perfect for the stamp as you can use the whole stamp as the tag and write your sentiment on the back. 

HCPC3462 My Guy PreCut Set HCPC 3459 Scenery Builders PreCut Set HCD 717 Scalloped Posy Die Product ID: 354806 Standard Circles Large Product ID: 354810 Scalloped Circles Large Other:  Green Cardstock, Vintedge Rachet 80# card stock, Hemp 20lb cord, Recollection Rhinestone, Stardust Stickles, Rangers Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Momento Black Ink  and Copies B93, B95, B99, YG11, YG13, YG17, C1, C3, C5,C7, BG0000, & BG10. This is called a Vertical Criss Cross Pocket Card.  The complete tutorial with measurements can be found here.  The card size is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".   All edges of card stock has been inked with a black ink pad.  Rangers Peeled Paint distress ink was used to distress the edges of the tag insert.  The small scalloped posy die was used for the pull tab on the tag with a rhinestone place in the center.  Stickles was used on the edges of the image, to highlight "My Kind Of Guy" on the tag, and to highlight the focal point image.  Two pieces of hemp were tied around the belly band.  The image was stamped using the masking technique and colored with copics.
