The Comfort of a Quilt

For our Dirty Dozen theme in March of "Keeping You in Stitches" I created this quilt card.  I have done a few quilts in my lifetime and I love them.  I created this one using this tutorial.  I have to tell you that I cut and piece the quilt portion of this card in less than an hour.  I did it before going to work one morning..
I used 3 plain colored card stock and to coordinating designer papers.  The Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page is "Loops".  I embossed by paper with a cuttlebug embossing folder.  The pearls are from Recollection.  The heart charm was also a find in the jewelry and bead section at Michael's.
This is a close up of the pretty heart locket charm.
This shows how pretty the embossing looks close up just like the intricate stitching of a real quilt.
Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to try to make one of this fun quilt cards.  Leave me a comment when you do to let me know so I can come visit and leave you a comment.  See you again soon!

  6. Carol, this is one beautiful quilt card . It's so yummy with the pearls and loops. Those loops would really be pretty on a real quilt and I'm quite sure you could pull that off. Go for it!
    Have a great Sunday.

  7. It *does* look like a real quilt, Carol! I think it's so beautiful. The colors and patterns remind me of a real quilt I made for my 10YO, when she was little. We only recently 'retired' it, and now there's something more modern on her bed. :)
