Hello my friends and sweet bloggers. Today what I have to share is my Embellishments that I made for a swap at My Scrap Room. For the perimeters of the swap we were to create 4 Stick Pins, 2 Altered Bottle Caps, 4 Handmade Flowers, and 2 Altered Keys.
We were to make 3 sets of Embellishments and keep one set for ourselves. This is my second set. They are almost the same. Slight difference in the keys and the bottle caps. It was so much fun to create these embellishments that I actually made a few more than 3 sets.
Here are some of the stick pins I created. I love stick pins so I made a bunch of them to have on hand. I haven't made some for a while so I just played with my stash of beads and made these.
These are the stick pins I included in my swap package. I wanted to keep with a vintage shabby chic look in basic white colors so that they can be used in any project by my swap parteners.
Here are my Altered Bottle Caps. I purchased my bottle caps from Michael's and had a horrible time trying to flatten them in my cuttlebug. They didn't come out evenly so I need to try a different bottle cap next time. I really like these as embellishments and want to create more. I used some die cuts for the background on some and lace on others.
Here are the handmade flower for the swap. I crochet all the flowers and used lace and bits and piece of gold or white mesh for some of the flowers and eyelash lace for others. The centers are "Spare Parts" from Hobby Lobby.
These are the altered keys. My keys came from the $1 bin at Michaels. They are a pretty good size and would look stunning hanging from a mini album or as an embellishment on a mini album. This video has better close ups of all the embellishments and the packaging. Thank you so much for stopping by to see my project that I have been working on the last couple weeks. See you soon!
OMG Carol, this is AMAZING! I love every single item on this page... :). I keep staring at your crochet flowers... STUNNING!

My Lord how gorgeous they are. Lucky Girls who will receive them. I got those Key from Michael's too, but my Kids took them away soon as i step away from the counter lol. I may have to ask to borrow them back, so i can decorate them like you. Gorgeous work Carol, visiting you, it's like a little treat. Thanks for sharing with your goodies on Video.

Hello, dear Carol! Always enjoy hearing your sweet voice in the videos. Thanks for the tip about the bottle cap brands. I could not help but chuckle when you were showcasing the white key, “I did not put more on it because it looked pretty enough without without it”. Pretty? It is GORGEOUS! So dainty and feminine, and yet full of bling and goodies - but Gorgeous, not just pretty LOL Thank you for explaining each detail, Carol. Regarding the stick pins, what “adhesive” do you use to keep the beads up on the pins? And how do you apply it? Do you just set them on their sides while they dry?
ReplyDeleteYour swap looks like lots of fun, and I’m sure your partners will be beyond delighted with the heartfelt embellies you have made. Thanks again for revealing every little detail from the dies and CS to the items themselves. My final words are: Incredibly Awesome. You are a treasure. hugs, de
Carol, first, the most beautiful way that you packaged your wonderful handmade embellishments is fabulous! Whoever gets these beautiful packages are going to be overwhelmed. I watched the video, wow girl you really outdid yourself! So much beautiful work went into each item and it shows. Just lovely.

OM Gosh! These are soooo fabulous. These totally showcase your talents my friend - they are some of the prettiest things I have ever seen! Wow! I love every one of them and I have never seen prettier stick pins. I am going to have to come back tomorrow and watch the video. Seriously, this is some of the coolest things I have seen you make (up there with the church and cross cards - LOL). Hugz - ones with sparkles and handmade lace!
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness Carol!! These are beyond gorgeous!! I first saw them on Pinterest the other day and I really thought it was something you were selling and I remember showing my DH and saying you were going to sell a ton! LOL Very professional looking packaging. I just LOVE everything you showed in your video and your swap partner is going to swoon when she opens her box. I really think you need to sell these on Etsy or similar! I've been wanting to make some stick pins for a while now and you've inspired me to give it a try. What kind of glue (?? maybe it's not glue ??) do you use to secure the bottom bead so the assembly doesn't slide off the pin? Can you tell I haven't done a lot of jewelry work? LOL
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Carol, this set is priceless. Seriously! Whoever receives this is one LUCKY gal!
