Altered Matchbox-Birds of a Feather

Guess what day it is??? Guess what day it is??? Have you seen that commercial for Geico with the Camel. It is so cute. Yesterday was hump day. Yes that is right and I unashamedly look forward to it every week. It means I only have two more days of real work before I can play in my craft room. That is why I just love that commercial!!!
Today is a project share I made some time ago as a Birthday gift to a friend.  It was so much fun.  I just love making these things!!!!  What we have here is an altered Matchbox and enclosed mini album.  Don't you just love the sweet birds.  They are from K & Company.
Here is the inside of the album.  It is filled with lots of bird related tags for journaling and pictures.

This is the last page in the album.
The box on the outside is decorated with lace and pretty pearls along with rolled roses from the Bitsy Blossom Spellbinders die.
What Birthday gift would be complete without a sweet little easel card to tuck into the box.  I used the same images, dies and roses to match the altered matchbox.
These are altered clothespins that I tucked inside the box I mailed as a little added gift.  I just loved making these.  I decorated the packaging to match everything.
This was also tucked into the gift.  Some little stick pins that I enjoy making.  Thanks so much for stopping by today to view this very long post.  Glad you could stop by today and join me for a moment,.  I will see you soon.  Here's a little video with more details about this project.
Thanks for watching!

  2. Another beauty, Carol! Someone is going to be very pleased to receive this. Your talent knows no bounds.
Oh, yes, I do know the Geico camel. I think he really gets on the last nerve of some of those employees. Ha But, I understand why you like him. :-)

  3. I don't know ANYONE who can alter items the way you can & make them into just absolute works of art! They are all just little mini masterpieces & this is no exception. Someone is going to be just blown away with this gift! (I love the camel too! And for the same reason)

  7. Carol - you crack me up! I can just visualize your creating heart, smile, and fingers as you make your masterpieces. The details - well, they say it is all in the details, right? I cannot get over the tiny tags and tee-tiny elements in your mini album which is nestled in a match box! Do you just DELIGHT in your creations as you make them? Tiny little jewels, die cuts, pretty papers, shabby elements - amazing. Darling tiny 4x4 easel card with the sweetest little "shaker" element! PRETTY little Birthday gift set, and I DID very much enjoy watching the video. Beautifully glitter-full, and wonderfully designed, and totally filled with Carol-Love. Thanks for sharing you, Carol. hugs, de

  11. Well, this one has 82,000 details and layers - totally AMAZING I love everything about this! The box alone would have been a wonderful present, but the mini album, card, and pins make this the limousine of packages/presents. So creative, so inspiring, so beautiful! wow! Hugz!
