Spring Tree in my Foyer

Here is a picture of my Foyer with my spring display. I made the Tulip Quilts at least 8 to 10 years ago. I love to make quilts! I have this tree up year round that I decorate for the different seasons and holidays. For the spring it is filled with miniature wooden bird houses, butterflies, small birds, and dogwood. Below is a close up of some of the bird houses I made and decorated.I make most of the ornaments for all the themes that I decorate for. This will be up until sometime in June when I do the 4th of July. I usually comb the After-Christmas-Sales to see if I can find anything that can be used at other times during the year. Last year I found some neat school buses for my Back-to-School display.

Well, I did my taxes today and am relieved to get it over with. Being sick has put me back in all the things I had to get done. Now I just have 3 more rooms to spring clean and then I am going on a craft making extravaganza!!!

I am going to try to keep posting. I am on a roll now and plan to keep up. By the way, I read an awesome book in less than a day. The title is Lovely Bones, by Ann Sebold. I read for about an hour last night and got so into it, I had to finish it today. I have never done that before. This not working stuff is great!

Spring has Sprung in Georgia

Here is a wreath I made for my front door today. I love the bright colors. It is so pretty, I decided not to hang it on the outside of the door. I hung it on the inside so I can see it whenever I go to the Foyer. lol

I purchased all my flowers at the Dollar Store here in town. I have been all over looking for flowers that I liked and could not find anything. I took a chance and went into the store on my Grocery Shopping day and found these. I am please with the results.

I have been spring cleaning my house. Three more rooms to go. I should be back soon with more cards.

See You Soon.

Sympathy Card for a Friend

I couldn't resist taking a picture of my card with a bear! This is a card I made for a friend who tragically lost her Mother in a car accident. I really like the black and white colors together. You can't see it well in this picture, but I used my cuddlebug and a floral folder to impress an image that matches the black and white printed paper. I used a punch that I have for the flowers and some white brads and stamped the sentiment. I used a white iridescent bow below the flowers. The bear is from Boyds Bears and Friends!

It's been a while again since I have posted here. I am still sick. I went back to the Doctor's again this past Monday and think I am finally on the mend. I was having bronchial spasms and my bronchial tubes were collapsing on each other. Today is the first day since I was laid off from work that I have been able to breath almost normally. It's funny that in the 10 years I worked at the bank, I was hardly ever out sick. I had 300 hours on the books for Personal Time Off that I didn't even use, nor did I get paid for when I left. I sure would have used it had I still been employed there. lol Of course, I probably would have gotten over this sooner had I not had the stress. It just makes you realize, if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

Hope to be back soon with more of my creations! Enjoy and thanks for looking!

St Patrick Lady Bug Card

Here is my first edition of St. Patrick's Day cards I will be making. St Patrick's Day happens to be a holiday at our house that we all love. This also happens to be a Holiday I decorate the house for. I have a St. Patrick's Day tree in my foyer that is just adorable.

As a side note, I am still sick. Went to the Doctor's yesterday and got a $200 antibiotic to try to kill this bacterial infection in my bronchial tubes. I can hardly breath. I just went out to the mail and didn't think I was going to make it back.
Hopefully, this will do the trick soon so I can get back on my feet and do all the wonderful things I love. I want to put up my St Patrick's Day decorations as soon as possible so I can enjoy them. I skipped the Valentine's decorations because I was not up to it and I really missed doing it.

I also want to express a warm welcome to my first follower CarolH. I appreciate your stopping by and viewing my blog. It's kind of funny that I am a CarolH as well!!!! Thanks a bunch.

Valentine's Day Cake

Here's the cake I made yesterday for our 19th Wedding Anniversary. My husband and I got married on the evening of Valentine's Day back in 1990.

I had to watch a couple of You-Tub videos to try to get the knack of making the roses. My son Ryan came to sit by me and wanted to try out the technique. So he actually made most of the roses on this cake. I think we need more practice....lol. But, I will say it was great spending quality time with him doing this and making memories.

By the way, this cake was delicious!

Wow, I can't believe all that has happened to me in the last month. The rug has been pulled right out from under my feet. The Heritage Bank of St Marys, Georgia decided they didn't need me any more after 10 years. It's a very difficult thing to loose your job.

I lost my job January 22, and to top everything off, I have been so sick it is unbelievable. I would say I have been sick close to 6 weeks. I have lost a lot of weight, which is a positive thing out of all this mess. No one will recognize me when I get back on my feet. I am starting to feel better today and was able to put this card together for my dear Mother. Bless her heart, she has been there for me everyday since the beginning of this ordeal.

The job thing, for sure, is not the end of the world. I have some things I am working on right now that may or may not pan out. With the way the economy is, I might have to lay low. But, God has always been good to me and I know there is something else for me to do. Right now I am concentrating on getting better, because the better I feel physically, the better I feel mentally.

Anyway, I am planning on coming back soon with more cards. My sister-in-law had surgery today, so I need to do a get well card for her. Hopefully, I will get my creative Mo-Joe back and have lots of new things to post.

Flower Creations Card

Here's a card I whipped up today to get ready to send a package to my Mom. She still isn't feeling well and I can tell by our conversations that she is depressed about not getting well faster than she think she should. Up in Connecticut where she lives, they have been getting lots of snow and freezing rain which makes it difficult for her to even leave her home or anyone to come visit. She told me she was cold, so I went shopping and found her the most buttery soft green pajamas imaginable that you would just want to cozy up in on a blustery day. I found some matching socks and I got her a box of chocolates to go with it. I plan on putting her box in the mail tomorrow to surprise her. This is the card I made to go in the package.

This card was made with my cuttle bug and wizard dies. I used the Flower Creations die cut and the Small Scalloped Circle. I cut the "Hugs to You" with my Cricut from the Beyond Birthdays cartridge. I used one of my punches for the lace effect on the bottom and tied a ribbon around it. I also used some stickles on the sentiment. Hope you enjoy looking at it and please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
