A Bear for MaryLou

Hello everyone!  Today I am back with the Teapotters after a very long hiatus.  And what better way to re-enter Teapot Tuesday's is with a "Bear Challenge", right!  After all, I just love bears.  This weeks destination is to MaryLou who lives in Florida.  She is another fellow Bear lover just like me.  I couldn't resist joining in any longer and Marie my punchkateer pal is the Challenge coordinator-so I have no excuse not to play.
This is my favorite paper pieced bear.  We were supposed to bring bears dressed up for a tea party and I thought of this bear right away.  Isn't she sweet?  I know MaryLou is going to love her.  With lace and flowers she is ready to go to Florida a bring a smile to MaryLou dressed in her tea party finery.
All the dies are from Spellbinders including the rolled roses and leaves.  I used Studio G ink from the 97 cent bin at Walmart.  The roses were painted with "Twinkle Toes" Glimmer Glam by Tattered Angels.  The sparkly green leaves are pieces of leaves from a Michael's Christmas spray.   Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I appreciated it.  Will see you soon.

Beary Special Friends

You know every once and a while I have to throw a bear in here!! This image makes me think of my "Best Bud". I just love the hug happening between these two. The tongue on the bear is priceless.

This is a Darsies image that was colored with Copic markers. I used papers from DCWV The Preppy Princess Stack. The heart borders are a Martha Stewart Punch as well as the branches. The leaves are spellbinders along with the die cuts under the image. Sandwiched in the back is the Heartfelt Creations Elegant Swirl Die. There is stickles on the rolled roses to make them sparkle. On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment "Hugs"-I thought it was so appropriate!

Here is a close up of those roses I just adore making.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will have a fantastic weekend!

Have a Beary Merry Christmas

This might be the very last Christmas Card that I show you for the 2011 Christmas Season. I saved the best for last. After all, anyone that knows me knows I am a "Bear Collector". Don't you just love the Popcorn Bears. He is so sweet catching snowflakes in his Santa hat. I get the warm fuzzies looking at this card.
I have a hard time taking pictures of cards that are red. I took this outside and it didn't come out any better than the artificial light. Trust me when I say it is pretty IRL. I used polar flower soft on the Santa Costume with fur and sprinkles some glitter in it while the glue was still we. Martha Stewart Arctic Snow punch around the page and doily heart border was used on this card. The bear was colored with copic markers. Sizzix Tom Holtz on the Edge die Snowflakes was used on the top. I applied lots of glitter. I placed a soft fuzzy snowflake from the dollar store under the main focal point and punched a bunch of small snowflakes studded with rhinestones to make it look like Popcorn was catching them in his Santa hat. This card is embarking on a journey today to someones house. You can never have to many bears in your house!!!! Just ask me. lol

Thanks for taking a look today. I feel a little better breathing today, but I hurt my ribs last night trying not to sneeze because it hurts so much to sneeze!!! It's always something isn't it. And my back side looks like it was decorated for Christmas with all the blue marks....lol I did finish wrapping presents last night and we have downsized the cooking I usually do for Christmas eve and Christmas dinner. That will help-I can rest more. That's it for the news here today. Busy day at work as we are only working a half day tomorrow.

Deedee's Digi's Just Chillin'

Happy Thanksgiving Bloggers! This is my last post as the November Guest Designer for Deedee's Digis. Are you busy making your preparation for tomorrow? The festivities are in full swing at my house. I just put my turkey in a brine, baked a pumpkin roll, and a graham cracker crust for my pumpkin chiffon pie....are you drooling yet? lol

Today's card was made with "Just Chillin" which you can find here. Just wanted to show you that you don't have to use this image for Christmas only. I needed a thank-you card for someone very special who helped me put up my Christmas decorations this past weekend. She will get a kick out of this card after seeing all the bears I have for Christmas. I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation as what would have taken me a week to do, only took me two days. We even dusted and washed windows!!

Card Recipe
Pink and Green Gingham paper that has been in my stash forever
Copic markers for coloring the bear
Spellbinders Lotus Die
Martha Stewart Deep Double Loop Punch
Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch
Sizzx leaf die
Prima Flower
Stickles

I made the sentiment piece by taking some extra pieces of paper and folding them like a fan and gluing them together. Then I stamped the sentiment and placed it on top. Thanks you so much for having me as the November Guest Designer. I had a great time and appreciated being with you.

This week I used the "priscillastyles" bear digital image that you can purchase here. I really love the folded frame technique and used it with this fun little bear. You can find this great tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers here. My gold papers are from our monthly sponsor The Paper Temptress. I used the Martha Stewart deep double loop punch and the holly punch. Red Rhinestones were used for the berries. I am trying to make smaller cards for a more postal friendly sending of holiday spirit. This one will be at least 80 cents...lol Thanks for visiting. Love your encouraging comments!

Deedee's Digis - Warm Wishes Cocoa Bear

Today I am the Guest Designer at Deedee's Digi's. I have something fun to show you. This card has been created with a fun loving little bear holding her little cup of Cocoa. You can purchase this Digital image here. I decided to use some fun papers that would have different colors of brown for the color of Hot Chocolate! Yummy!!! I only wanted bright color on the bear. You can't see it in my pictures, but I glimmer misted the paper and it looks awesome.

The front of this card is as follows:
Paper-DCWV Natural Stack
Punches - Martha Stewart Deep Edge Double Loop, Martha Stewart Hot Cocoa embossing punch, Martha Stewart Branch punch
Spellbinders Nestibilities-Large Scalloped Squares, Large Scalloped Ovals, Large Ovals, Fancy Tags
Accessories-Prima Roses, Ribbon, Stickles, Glimmer Mist

Now this is where the fun part comes in. See that pocket on the inside of this card. Well, it is a cup of Cocoa. Yes, that's right - it slips right out of the pocket and here it is!

Isn't this cute. It is holding a packet of Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Mix. If you would like to make this cup to hold your Cocoa packet, I have a tutorial on my blog here with directions qne how to make your template. Just for a reference, I used the Sizzx Fancy Flourish die cuts on the inside of the card and on this cup.

And one last picture. This is the card with the envelope box I made. My card is 6 x 6. I tried my card inside a regular 6 x 6 envelop that I make with my "Enveloper" and it will fit with the Cup of Cocoa in the card. I did have to make the envelope box for this card because my flowers are what made this card to chunky for a regular envelope.

Thanks for stopping by today. Just wanted to show you a fun way to use this cute image. What a wonderful way to share a small gift for someone special in your life. Let me know what you think!

Challenges Entered

Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes

Stamp Insanity - Punches

MMSC#57 Bear on a Swing

My image this week is from Sue at McMahon Five called "Bear on Swing". Isn't he just the cutest. I used my new Butterfly Martha Stewart PATP punch for this card, the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, and the Martha Stewart deep lattice punch. Those cute flourish swirls were found at Micheal's. My flower trim was made from the Spellbinders sunflower die cut. Crystal Effects was applied to the image cut out and pop dotted.

This is a picture of my card and the envelope that I made to go with it. I changed up the flowers on the envelope and put them in the corners.

This is the inside of my card with the envelope in the background. As you can see I carried the theme to the inside as well.

This card is being entered in the following challenges:
The Corrosive Challenge - Die Cuts
One Stitch In Time - Boys to Men
Paper Sundaes - Summer Fun
Raise The Bar - Celebrate Summer
Stamp Something - Stamp Something Digi

MMSC55 Forever Friends

Hi everyone and welcome to another week of the Midnight Madness Blogaversary. Be sure to check out the fun activity this week, you don't want to miss an opportunity to vote for the coveted "Priscilla" award. My post this week is an abbreviated one as I do not have a computer. This is our wonderful fancy sketch for this week. I took liberties with it and turned it on it's side because of my rather large Penny Black image I used.

This stamp is called Forever Friends. This is the first time I inked this one up and I just love it!!! Another bear too!!! About a couple weeks ago, my husband wanted me to take a ride to a pool place called Pinch-A-Penny to get some chemicals for our above ground pool. There was a Walmart next to it so I went in and found this beautiful lace trim. I am thrilled with how pretty it is and wish my Walmart here in town carried stuff like it!!! I used Spellbinders large scalloped edge squares and Martha Stewart's two sized butterfly punches. I colored my images with pencils and then stickled the edges. All and all they are pretty sweet together. It is going to be hard for me to send this one away to someone...lol

Barbecue Bananas
4 bananas
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups vanilla ice cream
Sprinkling of your favorite liquor (optional)
  1. Preheat grill for low heat.
  2. Halve each of the bananas lengthwise, then width wise. Sprinkle bananas with lemon juice. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll banana pieces in sugar/cinnamon mixture until well coated.
  3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Arrange bananas on preheated grill, and cook for 3 minutes per side. Serve in a bowl with vanilla ice cream topped with a sprinkling of remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture. You can also drizzle a nice liquor over the top. Try a little hot fudge sauce, or caramel sauce.
ENJOY!

MMSC#44 Wags and Whiskers Bear Hug

Greetings bloggers. Spring has sprung in Georgia. We had a cold start this morning, but the temperature has reached 70 today. School is going good for me. I am amazed how much I am learning and want to learn. I do have to study though everyday. There are just so many medical terms....I have to do it in blocks to remember them all
Today's card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge is a Wags and Whiskers Stamp called Bear Hugs provided to me by this week's sponsor Stamp and Create. I was thrilled to get this sweet little girl holding a bear. If you have been visiting my blog...then you know I love and collect bears. This is just darling. I paper pieced her dress and the bear.
Also, in the background you can see that I created an envelope. This is a 6 x 6 Priscillastyles kit that can be purchase here. If you are like me, and like to add lots of embellishments to your cards, then you need to get this kit. It makes a nice box style envelope to present your cards in so that you don't smash all that precious work you did!!!To create this card I stitched around the outer layers, used the Martha Stewart around the page punch, and the corners are a die from cuddlebug. On the inside the flowers are also a Martha Stewart punch. I kept this card pretty basic and this is the closest you will ever see me get to a Clean and Simple Card.....LOL
