Magnolia Altered Box Gift Card Holder

Today I am off from work so I though I would play along in the SCS challenge for Boxing Day to make a thank you card/gift card holder.  This is an altered "Laughing Cow" cheese box. I spray painted the box white and cut out circles to fit the inside of the box as well as the bottom and top. I die cut one large circle from the Spellbinders large circle set to layer on top of the designer paper. Then the large doily in the Parisian Motifs Shapabilities out of silver glitter paper. The next layer is the medium doily from the Floral Doily Motifs Shapabilities.
I distress inked the edges of the white die cuts with Stormy Skies Distress Ink. The flower is from Rose Creations Spellbinders die. The pretty floral is from Michael's Ashland Floral Bush. It was decorated with silver stickles. The branches are a Martha Stewart Punch. The Thank You sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michael's.

Thanks for taking a peek. I hope you had a blessed Christmas and wishing you a Happy, Healthy New Year!

Have a Beary Merry Christmas

This might be the very last Christmas Card that I show you for the 2011 Christmas Season. I saved the best for last. After all, anyone that knows me knows I am a "Bear Collector". Don't you just love the Popcorn Bears. He is so sweet catching snowflakes in his Santa hat. I get the warm fuzzies looking at this card.
I have a hard time taking pictures of cards that are red. I took this outside and it didn't come out any better than the artificial light. Trust me when I say it is pretty IRL. I used polar flower soft on the Santa Costume with fur and sprinkles some glitter in it while the glue was still we. Martha Stewart Arctic Snow punch around the page and doily heart border was used on this card. The bear was colored with copic markers. Sizzix Tom Holtz on the Edge die Snowflakes was used on the top. I applied lots of glitter. I placed a soft fuzzy snowflake from the dollar store under the main focal point and punched a bunch of small snowflakes studded with rhinestones to make it look like Popcorn was catching them in his Santa hat. This card is embarking on a journey today to someones house. You can never have to many bears in your house!!!! Just ask me. lol

Thanks for taking a look today. I feel a little better breathing today, but I hurt my ribs last night trying not to sneeze because it hurts so much to sneeze!!! It's always something isn't it. And my back side looks like it was decorated for Christmas with all the blue marks....lol I did finish wrapping presents last night and we have downsized the cooking I usually do for Christmas eve and Christmas dinner. That will help-I can rest more. That's it for the news here today. Busy day at work as we are only working a half day tomorrow.

Heartfelt Creations-Altered Poinsettia Box

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday. For my project this week, I altered a Dollar Store Gift Box Holiday gift givin. This would be perfect with some homemade cookies or candy on the inside. It's big enough to hold a set of Christmas cards too or some of the small bath and body works projects.
Heartfelt Creations:
HCPC3316 Poinsettia Petals PreCut Set
HCD704 Perfect Petals

Spellbinders: S4-328 Shapeabiliites Foliage

Other Empty Box from the Dollar Store, Versa Mark Stamp Pad, White Embossing Powder, Green Sparkly Foliage, Recollection White Circle Stickers for the centers on the poinsettia and hot glue. White, Red, and Green Card Stock-Scraps were used for this project.

Be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for the detailed directions on how to make one of these. Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a moment out of your busy schedule.

Had to got to the Doctor's today as I am having problems with breathing again. I got a shot this time and I am not talking about a lemon drop or tequila either. I'm not lucky enough for that....lol It is suppose to help me get better quicker so I am not sick for Christmas. No steroids...thank goodness I hope to get rid of this crud sometime soon!

Blue Christmas Without You

I’ll have a blue Christmas without you
I’ll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won’t be the same dear, if you’re not here with me

And when the blue snowflakes start falling
That’s when those blue memories start calling
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue Christmas

This card was suppose to be for a challenge at SCS that my friend Sue hosted on VSN. The challenge was to make a "Blue" Christmas card. Well, I started out with good intentions, but the rules are you only have 45 minutes to make the card. This card took on a life of it's own and is way more than a 45 minute card-so I never posted it. But I do love it!!

I used Stormy Sky's Distress ink on all my embellishments and lots of glitter. The poinsettia were cut from vellum and Tilda's coat has polar white flower soft.
Here is how I decorated the inside of my card. So I am having a "Blue" Christmas. I would love to have a "Blue" Christmas one year. I think a white tree with blue ornaments would be an awesome decorative touch. When I used to Manage The Heritage Bank in St. Marys Georgia, I decorated the bank with blue Poinsettia and ornaments on the tree. Our bank logo feature blue as the main color so I took the idea from that. It was really pretty.

Fred She Said Challenge-Tags/Recipe Cards

Fred She Said is having a fun little Christmas Challenge! The theme is " Make a Christmas Tag OR Share a favorite Holiday Recipe "
The PRIZE is a $25 GC to the Fred She Said Store. There will be one winner chosen randomly. Entries will be accepted until Friday DEC 30th midnight EST. ... more details at the Fred She Said BLOG .
This has always been one of my favorite images from Fred She Said. I just had to make her on a tag. You can find Emma and Chickadee here. I am sure after viewing this tag you really think I can pile on the punches and die cuts....you would be right...lol I love them!!! So what you see here is a combination of different dies. I did a project this week with Rangers Stormy Sky Distress ink in blue so I just used a bunch of left over items. This tag took me less than an hour and it fits beautifully on a Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Soap Bottle. I will be giving this to my son's girlfriend for Christmas. You can see it on the bottle in the first picture. These are the following dies I used.

Sizzix: On the Edge Snowflake Die and Bigz Pine Tree
Cheery Lynn Doily Dies-Italian Flourish(I cut mine in half to shape it on this tag)
Martha Stewart: Himalayan and Arctic Snowflake
Crimper for the piece behind Emma and Chickadee
Pieces were glittered with Recollection Crystal

This will be my last post as a Fred She Said Design Team Member. It is with great sadness that I will be resigning as a DT member. Fred She Said was the first Design Team I was ever on. Thank you so much Tracey for having me for such a long time. I really enjoyed my time and all the beautiful creations I made with your images. I am going to take you up on your offer and come back again at a later date!

Heartfelt Creations-Pine Cone Boughs

This is my second creation this week for Heartfelt Creations. I decided to play with the Pine Cone in the Holly Berry Filler PreCut Set. I just love working in layers and die cuts and punches. This card is really layered and it was so fun to do. I must admit that I enjoyed putting puzzles together when I was younger and working with layered cards is like putting puzzles together. It's cutting die cuts and punches and arranging them to fit together in a pleasing way...lol Here are the products I used.

Here is a close up of the pine cone so that you can see how I did the "snow".

So there you have it. Yesterday I had the pleasure of celebrating my Birthday (Oct 25) with my dear friend Peggy. We went to Longhorn's for lunch-Lobster Chowder and Strawberry Chicken Salad. It was so good I ate every bit of it...lol Peggy surprised me with a My Story Binder and a beautiful black rhinestone cuff bracelet-it's gorgeous. I can't wait to try the Binder out. Thanks so much Peggy for the celebration and gifts I really enjoyed it-I am so glad we waited until I was back to myself again after that crud I had...lol Enjoy your day and see you back here again soon!

Snowman Hugs

So what would you think if I told you that this stamp from Stamps Happen was sitting at Micheal's last year for about three weeks for $1.99 after Christmas. I was on the fence as to whether or not to buy it-but after three weeks I thought it was meant to come home with me. So I got it out last week, stamped a couple images and colored it during my lunch. Don't they look like they are all grouped together in a "Snowman Hug"....lol

No die cuts on this card....huh???? Yup just a whole bunch of Martha Stewart Punches. I went punch happy. So what would a snowman hug be like if say for instance you could get one....would it be cold, frosty, wet, squishy, hard as a rock, slippery, icy, glacial, nippy, frigid, or maybe even dangerous. Whatever word you would choose it still would be fun. Thanks for stopping by.

Snowman Hugs,
Carol

I had so much fun putting this together.
Here is the inside of my card. I made it so you can untie the bow and use the ornament I made here to place upon your tree. He is all glittered up to catch the twinkling of your Christmas lights. I just love putting little gifts like this inside of card.

Have a Merry Little Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate tomorrow. We have so much to be thankful for as we gather together to celebrate another year as a family and count our blessings. I am so thankful for my family and friends both here and Georgia and on the net!

Well, I went and did it with this card. The Mother of all die-cut and punches I think...lol So in all fairness-it is going to my Mother. I think I am going to do a 12 days of Christmas surprise for her and send her something every day starting 12 days before Christmas. I am going to bake her favorite cookies "Cream Wafers" for one of the days. She doesn't put up decorations so I am going to send her a little tree that I found-she will adore it as she can put it on her coffee table. I'm making a list of 12 packages to send. It will be so much fun she won't know what to expect...lol

Back to my card. The inspiration for this came from the leftover paper I had lying on my table from my Christmas lantern card. It's the light brown paper you see in the background. I started cutting out snowflakes and distress inking them with Ranger Vintage Photo. The reindeer are a Tim Holtz die that I cut from cereal boxes, painted white, distressed the edges, painted with glitter glue, and sprinkled with Martha Stewart coarse clear glitter-twice. Yes, I glittered over glitter and it really made these reindeer sparkle. So now I will attempt to list all the dies I used on this card and supplies:

Spellbinders: For the focal point-Fleur de Lis Pendant, Scalloped Oval Nesties, Large Oval Nesties, Mega Fancy Tags 2, Foliage Shapabilities die
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Reindeer, Tim Holtz Snowflake On the Edge, Sizzix Architectural Accent Die
Martha Stewart Punches: Aspen Snowflake Punch Around the Page, Large Himalayan Snowflake, Medium Arctic Snowflake, Medium Branch Punch
Cuttlebug: Snowflake Embossing Folder
Other: Rangers Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Martha Stewart Course Crystal Glitter, Rangers Crackle Paint-Picket Fence, Diamond Dust Glitter, Diamond Stickles, Recollection Pearl Flourishes, Gold Mini Bells, White Plastic Snowflake from the $1 store, Recollection Pearls. Sentiment was from the Micheal's $1 bin, Sheer White Ribbon for the bow.

Well, I think I got everything. Thanks for stopping by today. I sure do appreciate it. Again Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends and make lasting memories.

Heartfelt Creations Altered Christmas Photo Frame

Here is my Altered Project for Heartfelt Creations. I couldn't decided which color frame I liked better so I ended up getting both. As a matter of fact, I bought all of them from two stores because I knew if I made one, I would want more....lol These were purchased from a store called "The Dollar General" for $1 each. We have a lot of them here in the South. Of course, you can put pictures of your family in these frames and hang them on your Christmas tree. I chose to show them to you with a vintage image inside. The inspiration for the pine cones I made came from this picture that my friend Colleen from Dietrich Designs pinned on Pinterest. I am so addicted to Pinterest it is not even funny...lol I just love the visuals-it gives you so much inspiration. So here is the silver frame. I have to tell you that I have never used the Black Lightning Dew Drop that I had before. But it has the most awesome patina I have ever seen in an ink. I will be using it again soon. I used it to distress the edges of the snowflake and die corners here but the camera did not pick it up well.
Here is the gold frame. One thing I do want to mention if you are going to make these is to use hot glue to attach the pretty die cut corners. That will leave the back of your frame nice and clean without any adhesive marks.

Heartfelt Creations Magnificent Spruce Trees

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday. This is my first post as a Design Team member and I can't tell you how much fun I am having working with their dies and stamps. I feel so blessed to have been chosen for the team. A big thanks to my friend Cheryl Walker for encouraging me to apply!

Be sure to mark your calendar for Black Friday when Heartfelt Creation will be revealing their new release. It is awesome, you don't want to miss it.

This nice wide lacy die is awesome. I have no problem using my cuttlebug to cut this with. I just use a sheet of wax paper and the die slips off the paper like butter. I stamped the Magnificent Spruce Tree (the large tree stamp) three times to make my image with Peel Paint Distress ink and then applied stickles to the branches by tracing them with the tip of the bottle. I have been pulling out some older punches that haven't gotten any love and have used them. I forgot how beautiful the corner adorner can look. So who knows what else I'll pull out I haven't used in a while. It's fun to use your stuff!!! lol

For a list of supplies and directions on how to make this card, please visit the Heartfelt Creations blog where you can get all that information and see what all the other Design Team members have created for you this week.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow when I will post my Heartfelt Creations altered project. You don't want to miss it.

Fred She Said Lenten Roses

Hello everyone. Today I want to show you a card I make with Fred She Said Lenten Roses. Oh, aren't they so pretty. They are pre-colored but I chose the white. You can find them here. I layered my image three times on top of the Beaded Circle Spellbinders Nestabilities. I distressed the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink from Rangers. The corners are Spellbinder Parisian Accents and the leaf is Spellbinders Foliage Shapabilities. The border punch is from Martha Stewart called Edger Embossed Zig Zag. The sparkly green leaf is from Michaels in their floral department as well as the sentiment stamp that came out of the $1 bin.

Thanks for stopping by today. It's been a little bit since I have posted on my blog. It seems I have every possible side effect from taking Prednisone, but the bright side is I probably have a week or two left. Guess it is a small price to pay to be able to breath! I will have more things coming your way this week. See you soon.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge-Scraps

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge over at Mark's Finest Papers. The challenge this week is to use your scraps. I know I don't look like I have a lot of scraps here but let me explain.

My Mark's Finest Papers Cardinals in Winter is actually a scrap from something I intended to do but didn't. I was going to decorate a jar with them and didn't. So I decided to make this card with them. This image is layered. I cut a Cardinal out of one of the images and layered it on top for dimension. The Poinsettia is a result of playing with my new die set. I was trying to decide how to layer and enhance the Poinsettia and these were laying on my craft table. I decided to marry these with the cardinals. The gold leaves are from leftovers from something else I was working on.The Products used on the card:
Mark's Finest Papers-Cardinals in Winter
Spellbinders: Layered Poinsettia, Parisian Accents, Labels 4
Ribbon, Recollection Gold Dots, Gold Stickles, Gold Leaves, Gold Martha Stewart Micro Beads

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will be able to join us in our challenge. Have a great weekend!

Heartfelt Creations

Here is the first card that I created for evaluation for getting on the design team. It is made with the Heartfelt Creations Jean Pocket/Ball Can precut Stamp Set and the Daisy Heartfelt Creations Daisy Exclusive Die and Daisy Precut Stamp Set.
This was my second entry for consideration for the design team. This was made with the Heartfelt Creations Jean Pocket/Ball Can Pre-cut Stamp Set and the Daisy Pre-cut Stamp Set and Exclusive Heartfelt Creations Die Set.
Here is a quick post today to announce that I made the Heartfelt Creations Design Team. I am honored to be selected to participate. I met the people from Heartfelt Creations at the CKC I went to in Jacksonville in September. I took a couple of their classes and they announced they were looking for people for their Design Team. Also, my friend Cheryl Walker who was on the team emailed me to say she thought I should tryout-so I did. I am late getting this up as I got a cold a week ago Thursday. I was feeling better by my Birthday Oct 25 but the next morning I work up I could not breath. I went to the doctor and my blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level was all mess up. I have asthmatic bronchitis. Breathing better now but not up to myself.
