Vintage Blue Background Santa with Gift Tags

Oooo, isn't this one yummy??? I love these colors and they were dictated to me by the background color behind this Santa. I couldn't resist more Snowflakes.....I love these Snowflakes. I promise I have made some from my other Spellbinders die...but these are still my favorite. This dp is from the Holiday K & Company Stack. I love each and every piece of paper and that stack too! Such pretty paper this year don't you thingk? Lots of stitching on this and I justed the Lattice Borderablities from Spellbinders too!I used Rangers Brick Red to distress ink around the edges on this. I told you i was getting into the inking didn't I!!! LOL Here is the inside of my card. I silver embossed this time. The trim around the red ribbon I used for the bow was the inspiration for that! I make this pocket to hold my tags. Here is a look at the back of my tag....notice my $1 stamp again. I think you will be seeing more of it....I love it.I had to tie some bows on these to make them frilly.....these are also glittered even if you can't see them too well in the picture.
This envelope was made to match the card. I even stickled the snowflakes on the envelope. Did I ever tell you I don't think there is a day I don't have glitter on me. I love glitter and find it everywhere. I don't think I am alone in this obsession as there used to stamping store down in St Marys I frequented that the owner purposely had glittered on the floor. I love it!!!I hope you have enjoyed visiting today. You know, I am really getting into "Vintage"....I think Priscilla over at Priscillastyles has rubbed off on me. I admired vintage for a long time before I tried now I think I am addicted. I plan on doing more. Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think, I sure would appreciate it.

Stampin Up Snowman Christmas Card with Ornament

Let me just say that I love the colors in this card. I was in Michael's a week or so ago and came across Sweet Dreams Holiday Avenue by My Mind's Eye and I love every sheet in that pad. I inked the edges of this with Perfect Plumeria and glittered everything. You can see some close up's here of all the details...don't you just love that little snowman on the bow. I was so happy to see Martha Stewart put that heart border punch on her regular line. I had been admiring everyone who had and used that punch of my favorites. This stampin up guy is so cute. I am sure he came with other stamps, but I don't have them. I bought this second hand before I knew to much about Stampin Up products, but I pretty much do my own thing anyway. Here in the inside of my card, I have made a Christmas ornament for the recipient to use on their tree. I used the Spellbinders snowflake die to make the snowflake and attached it to a store bought plain white snowflake. So pretty!!! I want to make thousands of these!!! LOL I just love them!Just a close up to show how pretty this snowflake is. It will just "pop" right off the card easily. The envelope was made to match this card and stamped with one of my favorite snowflake stamps.Hope you have enjoyed viewing this creation. Are you done putting up your Christmas decorations yet??? I am loving the Christmas lights, playing Christmas music while I craft, and burning my Christmas scent candles. It has turned cool here, so I am sneaking out at night by myself and going in the jacuzzi before going to bed. It is wonderful looking up at the stars at night and seeing all God's beautiful handiwork. Since I live out in the country, it is pitch black at night and I love being outside gazing at the stars and watching the planes fly over my house on the way to the Jacksonville airport. It's so relaxing. Have a great day!

Vintage Santa with Matching Gift Tags

Hi everyone. I thought I would treat you to one of my Santa's from my Boyds Folkstone Santa Collection. This one is called Electronick...LOL You may be seeing more of these in the future as I take pictures of my Christmas Cards. Isn't he cute. He is testing out the Christmas lights to see if they are working....can you relate to this? Sometimes I get frustrated and just go buy new ones!!!!I love vintage Santa's!!! Today's card is a wonderful right jolly ole elf! i did this with black accents which really brings out the red. Here is one of those feathers that I have found I love to use on my holiday cards. The corners are a sizzx die. I did stitching on this and the center die under Santa is the Spellbinders Pendant Die Lattice. Here's another closeup view of all the details. The Merry Christmas is actually a sticker.
The inside of the card has matching detail. I sewed this pocket to hold the matching tags I made.
I got this To/From stamp from the $1 bin at Michael's. I just love that stamp and have been using it a lot.The three tags fit nicely in the pocket and it doesn't make the card too bulky. This is the envelope I made and gold embossed with the same stamp that I gold embossed on the tags.

Hope you are having a great day. I would appreciate know what you think about this. I value your comments and suggestions!

Golden Christmas Tree Card

Happy Black Friday Everyone!!! LOL I am getting up at 4 a.m. this morning so I can be in line to get some good deals on Christmas presents for my boys. I am a little insane.....yes....but, hey, what to heck. It is a tradition with my husband and I. We really have to watch our budget this year anyway, so we will take advantage of the sale.Today's card was made for a Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers during Virtual Stamp Night. Would you believe that this is a Christmas ornament that I carved up? LOL Really, it had a star on the top which made it too big for the card. I also trimmed some of the stump off the tree trunk.I made this flowers with some punches I have. They have gold colored rhinestones in the center and lots of stickles for shine. I embossed the panels with the swiss dot embossing folder. I used the Classic Lace Bordabilities. The corners are a cuddlebug die cut that I cut in half and again I used a cereal box to cut them out so they would be like chipboard and I filled them with glitter. Here is the inside of this card. I gold embossed the tree you see here. I thought this sentiment stamp was perfect for the glitz and glitter of this card. Thanks for stopping in today. I really appreciate it. This ornament came from the $1 section in Walmart. They had several different colors. If you wish to try this, it does snap apart. So you can carefully pry it apart and trim with a regular pair of scissors. I would love to hear what you think about it!!!

Broken China Snowflake Card

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am in-between basting the Turkey and decided to start sharing more of my projects. I am a little behind on my postings here. So for the next few days, keep checking back as I will be posting a lot of my cards that I recently made. This particular card was made for one of the Challenges over at Split Coast Stampers for Virtual Stamp night. I volunteered to be a CO for VSN and have learned the behind the scene things that go on. It has been a lot of fun.I used the Spellbinders Fleur de' Lis Die cut for this as well as their Snowflake die. I am not sure if the Snowflake dies are number or not but it is one of the new ones for this year. I have last years snowflake which I really liked, but this one is my favorite and I am making it over and will see more of this....I promise...LOL You can see my embossing really well in this picture. Here is the inside. I used Rangers Broken China distress ink....oh how I love that color...perfect for this. I am getting into inking lately....the more I do, the better I like it. Of course, there is lots and lots of glitter on this....another favorite accessory for me!!! My rhinestones were awesome match! You can see my snowflakes on the envelope that I made to go with this card. The tag is from Spellbinders called "Fancy Tags". Another one of my favorite dies.
Thanks for stopping by today and viewing my work. I hope you find some inspiration here that you can take to your creative table. As we reflect upon Thanksgiving and think about all we are thankful for, I will pass on how thankful I have been this year for finding so many wonderful friends that I have met on the Internet who love this craft as much as I do. What inspiration and beautiful work I have viewed and been inspired by. You are all amazing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Midnight Madness Challenge #29 Gingerbread Village

Hi everyone and welcome to another week of Midnight Madness. I did go a little mad with the sketch this week. You know I love Teddy Bears, but I bet you didn't know I also love Gingerbread...they're kind of the same color aren't they? I have had this idea stuck in my head forever and thought this sketch was perfect to do I went for it. I have my Christmas decorations up already so you can see I stuck the frame in my Gingerbread tree. I will treat you one day this week to a picture of this tree.
These images are freebies over at D.A.I.S.I.E. Company by Gina Jane. Isn't this the cutest thing you ever saw??? I even made my peppermints and wrapped them in the cellophane you normally throw away that your embellishments come in. I have been finding creative things to do with stuff your normally discard. I made all these houses 3D. The Gingerbread Man and the Gingerbread Girl in the middle of this picture are shakers. The heart in the middle is also a shaker and is really so cute. You can see I did lots of stitching. I will tell you that I also cut up a UPS box for the backing for this that I would have normally thrown away and I covered it with felt so you can't even tell on the back. You can get a good view of those peppermints in this picture with the one in the top left corner.I had one house left guess what? I made a gift card to go with my picture frame with that one. Here is the card and believe it or not, I followed the sketch. The lollipop and heart are both shakers.

This is the inside of the card. These Gingerbread Boy and Girl are the same shakers that are in the frame. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed doing these. It was a lot of fun putting this together. I just love them!!! By the way, I had some help with the frame. My dear husband made this frame for me and stained this project was a combined effort of the Hurlock family!!! LOL

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #28-Fred She Said Emma

Greetings one and all and welcome to week number 28 for Midnight Madness. It's been a busy week here at the Hurlock household. I took down my Fall/Halloween decorations and put them away. You won't believe how much stuff I have...enough to fill 4 rooms and an entry way, lights....tree....the whole nine yards. Today the Christmas decorations are coming out. It will take me a week to get it all up....5 trees, garland, blinking name it. It will be a winter wonderland. I need to charge admission to come see it. LOL I might put a couple pictures up here to give you a peek....I promise not to charge you to look. LOL

Today my card is a digi image from Fred She Said. This is Winter Emma and the Chickadee and she comes in 5 color versions. She is just the sweetest thing and don't you just love her boots!!! I can't wait to do the blue version and you will probably see that Fred She Said digi here next. I am a big fan of Tracey's digi's and encourage you to stop by her store and see her wonderful designs. They make up a card so beautifully!

Here you can see the layers I did with the digi and all the embellishments close up. I stitched the card, used the Fancy Tag Spellbinders Die Cut for the sentiment, and tied a ribbon. The green glitter piece is a spellbinders borderability that I cut from a cereal box and glittered up.The same goes for the swirls you see here. Cut them from an cereal box and glittered too! The Snowflakes are from K & Company that I happened to pick up on sale at JoAnn's early in September. I don't even see them anymore. They are gorgeous. Here is the inside of my card with the matching border punch, stitching and snowflakes. I hope that you have been inspired to create your own Christmas Card and here is why!!!!
