Fred She Said Sentimental Doodledallion

Well folks this is not my usual over embellished card upload. My dear Mom recently asked me for another stack of cards for her all occasion card box to send to family and friends. She is basically shut in and doesn't get out-but she loves to send cards (apple doesn't fall too far from the tree does it...lol) So I had to make these to fit an envelope for 44 cents not the $1.71 it cost me to send a card. I tried to keep them pretty basic.

The flower is from Fred She Said and comes with a variety of sentiments to use as the center for the flowers. I just used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders and distress inked the edges.

So these are going off to Mom in a box with some more chocolate (I will have to put ice packs in the box this time as it won't make it to Connecticut from Georgia with the heat and humidity here). My Mom is now down to 80 pounds. I might have to go up there and start feeding that woman peanut butter and milk shakes!!!

Thanks for stopping by. I have had computer problems since the weekend and haven't been around too much. I am borrowing a computer to post this. Hopefully I can catch up with everyone soon.

Teapot Tuesday Challenge - Dodge Ball Shaped Cards

Hi there everyone. Today's card is for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. The Challenge this week was to make a "Dodge Ball" shaped card. Believe me this card is so round it wanted to roll right out the door....lol I had to put it in this holder to take a picture. This weeks destination is Stuart Florida to Sandy who is going through her second bout with breast cancer.

This is the first time I have made a round card like this. I have made some round easel cards with nestabilities but this is different. This is 5-1/2" round and was cut with a Martha Stewart round circle punch. The image is from the Fred She Said Store and is called the Sentimental Flower Doodledallion Set. This is such a fun set as it comes with several sentiments for the inside of the flower and some pin pricking patterns as well. I used the Martha Stewart Gothic Arches corner punch to punch the a design around the paper. I also used a spellbinders floral doily motif die. The butterflies are a large and small punch from Martha Stewart. The paper is from K & Company. Thanks for stopping by.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge-Buttons

Welcome to another edition of Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge. I hope you can play with us this week. Our challenge is to add at least one button to your card. My image is from Mark's Finest Papers and it is called Poppies, Poppies, Poppies. I adore this image. I colored the poppies with red, orange, and yellow copic markers. I wanted them to look like a tomato red.

I love this image so much I had to make an envelope to go with the card as well. Guess I am on a roll here. I did pop the image up on dimensional. I did color a shadow around my poppies in a tan to match my paper. I am signed up for three copic classes in September. I have played enough with these markers now to go to the next level!!!

Here is the inside of my card. I made removable tags. This was so much fun to make. So let me invite you to join our challenge. I can't wait to see what you make and visit your blogs to take a look. Just a reminder there's a great sale going on at Mark's Finest Papers on discontinued stampes. Grab them while you can at a great price!

Fred She Said Humming Bird and Columbine

Greetings Blogger's I wanted to show you this fabulous image from Fred She Said called Hunning Bird and Columbine. Isn't this gorgeous. You can find this at the Fred She Said Store here. This is such a pretty color blue. I shaded my Beaded Oval Spellbinder die cut with Stormy Sky distress inks. I just love working with inks.
I loved this image so much that I made the matching envelope to go with this card. This is something I don't get to do to much any more because of time constraints-but I love making my own "highly" decorated envelopes...lol

Here is the inside of my card. The top decorated portion is actually a removable tag. You just have to untie the bow and take it off to adhere pictures to send to a loved one. Thanks for dropping in today. I am hoping to get to craft a lot this weekend. I won't be leaving the house due to asthma problems.

We are dealing with a major wild fire since April 28 in the Okefenokee Swap. The fire has now burned about 23 square miles, or 14,500 acres. It is now to the point that co-workers are moving parents out of homes for mandatory evacuation this week. We heard 50 homes had to be evacuated. It is about 40 miles from where I live. Every day it is smoky here. You breath it, you taste it, you smell it. Not good for those of us with asthma. Sometimes it looks like it is snowing because of all the ash-other times you don't see the sun because the sky is filled with smoke. It's gray and red and orange all at the same time. I am taking my camera tomorrow to take a picture to post here.

Teapot Tuesday Challenge-Back Door for Me

Come join us at the Teapot Tuesday Challenge over at SCS. This week's destination is to a daughter of one of our very own SCS member-Mutnik. Jessica had an accident while riding her horse and was hurt pretty bad-the good news is she is on the mend. We were to bring cards with images with horses. Pssst....this is why I am coming in the back door-no images for me with horses. But I think Jessica will love this just the same....after all doesn't a Zebra resemble a horse???
I am not horsing around here. No horse images in my stash. I was fretting over this to the point of having night mare's. As long as no one stirrups any trouble, I am just going to roan with it. Wouldn't want to rein in the fun. This may be a long shot, but I think the girls will bale me out and say my card does not have to be an exacta image of a horse. Maybe I am feeling my oats here, and these challenges are making me not really stable. But I am taking a chance and going out on a fence. So I decided to grab the reins and run with this. (You get it??? Fun play on words....lol)

This is a picture of the inside of my card. Just thought you might like to see that.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge-Father's Day

Today's challenge at Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge is to make a Father's Day Card. I have used the "Big Boys Toys" stamp for my card this week. Come and join us for a fun challenge. Thank you so much for those of you who participated in our flower challenge. It was awesome to see all your fabulous creations.
This image reminds me of Sunday afternoon drives with my parents. When I was growing up, my parents would take us for a Sunday afternoon drive some where. They never had a plan as to where we were going. We would drive to the lake, or maybe take a walk in the forest, go to an orchard, sometimes the ocean. These drives would always include ending up at my Grandmother's house. Sometimes we would get ice cream, sometimes we would go to dinner, or just pack a picnic lunch. Great memories!!! My father loved the color red so that is why I did this card in red. He would have loved it!

Fred She Said Goes to the Teaparty

Today's card and envelope was the product of a challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers called Teapot Tuesday and a time to play with some Fred She Said images. You can find out all about it by clicking here. I love to play this challenge as the purpose is to send our cards to a total stranger who is dealing with mostly health issues.
This week we are sending our card to a 22 year old new Mom who is going to be away from home for a month receiving "killer chemo". Our mission was to make a CAS card and a kit for Lindsey to make a card just like the one we sent her so she can send it on to her loved ones. In other words, we are going to make a card maker out of her....lol Oh Ladies CAS is just not in my vocabulary....and something I just can't do!!! This is as close as I can get. So what you see above is my card and envelope and in the cello bag is my kit. I was thinking that Lindsay may not have a lot of tools to work with, so I did everything except put this together. I distressed, cut, layered and paper clip everything together in the order she needs to do it.

Now for the recipe:
My image is from "Fred She Said" called Fall Flower Collection. My sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers.
Spellbinders: Round Scalloped Nesties, Circle Nesties, Parisian Motifs
Punch: Martha Stewart Butterfly
Misc: Pearls, Sage Distress Ink, Stickles, Ribbon, Brad

This is one of those easel cards that has the extra piece added on with a brad. I hope you like it. If you find it in your heart to bring joy into a strangers life, come and join us at the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at SCS. It's lots of fun. See you again soon. I have more Fred She Said images that I have been working on and more Mark's Finest Papers this weekend!

Speedy the Cat's Friend Challenge-Here Comes the Grad

Greetings friends and loved ones. It's been a while since I have blogged. My son graduated from High School and we whisked the family away to a cruise to the Western Caribbean!!! What a blast we had. Now I am back and want to share my news. I will be working with the fabulous Speedy the Cat's Blog Team. Today is my first challenge as a Design Team Member.

The challenge this week is from Patty Penn to use a 3 dimensional flower on your card. It can be prima, punched, silk, whatever you choose. Some come and join us at Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge for a chance to win one of Faith's super awesome stamp sets! Just click on the link and it will take you to the challenge.

Let me just tell you that I am in love with these stamps. These stamps sets are so well coordinated with sentiments and images and are very fun to work with. This stamp is called "Here Comes the Graduate" from Mark's Finest Papers. Isn't this owl cute!!! The stamp set had the Congrats, Grad sentiment and the quote as well.
