Nobel Deer

Just wanted to share this card with you. This was a stamped image given to me by Sue (Coffeestamper) over at Splitcoast Stampers. I had admired her masculine cards made with this image and Sue so kindly sent me a couple of these stamped images. I made this to honor Sue as she was selected as the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast.

I colored this image with Copics. The paper is from K & Company. The punches used are Martha Stewart Laurel Leaf Punch Around the Page and Branch Punch. The flowers are made with a Marvey Floral Punch. The leaves are a Sizzx Die. Spellbinders Fleur de Lis and Scalloped Squares were used. The Corners are the Cuttlebug Victorian dies and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stickled the flowers and edges.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you and your family have a very Happy Easter!

Fred She Said Old "Time" Truck

You know Father's Day is coming up real soon! So, I have a bunch of guys here that love Classic Trucks and Cars. I don't make a lot of masculine cards, but with a pre-colored image like this from Fred She Said....well, you guessed it, I could make one every day. I am on the FSS Design Team and Traci gave us this truck and there are several different colored trucks that are really cool. You may have seen the rust colored one I did. Be sure to check them out here if your are interested!I have had this idea in my head for a couple of months since I picked up these Timepiece Clear Stamps from Sandylion at Micheal's. The background paper even has clocks on it and it is from At Home by My Minds Eye. I stamped the timepieces with versamark and embossed with black. Then I used a glue pen and antique silver glitter on the faces. I used crystal effects on my truck to give it the "new wax" look. There are glittered brads in the corners and clear rhinestones on the die cut.
I used several different punches as follows for decorating the card:
EK Success Scroll Border Punch (I got this for $2.99 after Christmas-what a bargain!)
Spellbinders Fleur D' Lis Pendant both big and small-I cut the small one in half for all the corners
Martha Stewart PATP Gothic Arches

This card is entered in the following challenges:

4th Fred She Said Blog Hop-A "Fred For All"

Hi everyone! It's time for a Fred She Said "Free for All". Yes that is right, it is our 4th Fred She Said Blog Hop and welcome to my blog. If you just happened upon my blog and didn't know about this wonderful event we have going on, well then, I invite you to start back at the beginning at the Fred She Said blog here and start your hop.

Along the way, please leave a comment on each of the design teams blog. At the end of the hop, you will need to follow the special instructions at the Fred She Said Challenge blog to make your entry. Your name will go in a drawing to win a fabulous gift certificate for $20 at the Fred She Said Store.

This is my creation for the blog hop. Don't you just love this Classic Truck image. My son who is 17 years old has been restoring a 1964 Ford Truck for over a year. He just recently sold it. This image reminds me so much of that truck. I showed him this card and he loved it...lol He just bought a 1986 Ford Mustang and is now fiddling with that!!!

I used the rust colored image of the truck for this card. My paper is the DCWV stack called Natural. It was perfect for this card. I used the Martha Stewart loopy PATP. The image was first cut with a spellbinders scallop die cut and popped on the rust colored larger scallop. I then cut another image of the truck and popped it for more dimension. I had some old wooden buttons in my stash from when I used to sew and I sponged some Ranger Tea Die Ink on them and Diamond stickled them. I tied the bows with cream colored crochet thread. Crystal Effects was used on all images of the truck.
This is a picture of the inside of my card. I shrunk one of the trucks down for the lower part of this card and I also put one on back of the envelope. This envelope was made from a kit available at the Priscillastyles store here. I cannot make a card now without making the complimentary envelope. With Father's Day coming in June, I hope this will inspire you to create with this fabulous Digi. I just love it and I know you will too!!!

Mets-Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Surprise!!! This is something different for me isn't it? lol My son Wesley is the ultimate Met's fan. He has a non-paying position over at Met Merized Online writing recaps of the Met's games. He and his girlfriend are going to Atlanta next week to watch the Met's take on the Atlanta Braves. It is his girlfriends birthday so he has planned a "Met" theme. He handed me this decal and asked me to make him a card to match the presents he purchased for his girlfriend. So, what better time than for me to try the "Emboss Resist" technique. I have been watching videos over at Stamp It TV and learned this from GinaK. I absolutely love it and plan on doing more. It's like creating your own DP!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Mystic Seaport Revisted-SCS Challenge

The Monday's Try a New Technique over at Splitcoast Stampers was "Faux Burnt Edges". For the challenge and tutorial on this technique click on the link I provided here.

Thanks to so many supportive and encouraging comments on my last vintage card, I gave it another try. This time it's something for the guys. I absolutely love this card. Must be the Connecticut Mystic Seaport person in me, right?

I followed the burnt edge tutorial. Then I pop dotted portions of the ship to give it a 3D effect. I used Stardust embossing power on the ship image to give it a shiny glitter look. (You know I love that glitter). I tied a twine bow on the card and used some brads. This was so easy.

Thanks for stopping by. Your comments are truly appreciated and are encouraging.

Sunfish Get Well Card

Here is a card I made to send to my husbands Uncle Frank who is currently in the hospital. I have had this stamp forever and have never used it. I was always afraid to tackle the coloring. I used my pencils to color, then I used linen colored distress ink all over it to tone down a little of the brightness. I put stickles just on the fish. I tried out the "Pixie" sewing machine to do the stitching. I need more practice for sure. I am not sure I like this machine yet. I need to do some more stitching. I am a seamstress but am not too happy with the results on this project. Thanks for letting me share.

Stamp: Whispers
Paper: Card stock and DP from Blossoms and Posies Stack
Ink: Black and Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Ribbon, Spellbinders label die, Pixie Sewing Machine, Star brads
