I have had the Tim Holtz Sewing Room Set for some time and haven't pulled it out of it's package. Gosh it was so fun to make this-why did I wait so long!!! I cut the dress form on chipboard, painted it with Picket Fence Crackle Paint (love that stuff). I free hand cut the bodice and cut two layers of paper for the skirt. The lace underskirt is actually a Martha Stewart Chrysanthemum punch-isn't it cute.
The frame is from my cast offs from something that didn't work a while back-it's a cuttle bug die and embossing folder. The pearls are from Recollection. I distress inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
This is a close up of the pretty pearls I used.
I even distress inked the red roses on this card as well.
Makes me wish I had a pretty dress like this in my closet!!! Of course, since I sew, I could always make one right. But it's so much easier and much more fun to make them in miniature like this. I want to play with this die again real soon. Thanks for visiting me today. I hope I have inspired you to play with this die if you have it in your collection. See you real soon.

what a fun card! Very pretty
This so pretty! It brings back great memories for me too. Back in the days when I used to sew. My poor sewing machine, these days I can't tell you when I last used it...

fabulous and very beautiful carol.
greetings karin
Now that is one rockin' fabulous 50s dress! I love how you gave it a lacy crinoline, too, and such pretty colors!! Such a sweet card, Carol!
Carol, this is too cool. I love the dress and especially the 'fabric' with the big roses. What fun! I know you had a blast. Oh, and that lace underskirt is just so feminine. I love it bunches.
There's my card!! I LOVE this Carol, and feel very honored to own it. I still have many dress forms from you, to dress at will. I love how you applied the crackle paint on this. It gives such a vintage feel! And that skirt -- to die for! Thank you for sending this to me. :) It's something I treasure.
