Vintage Card with White Roses

 Greeting friends and crafters.  So here I am today with something I create a quite a while ago.  It was a project from when I was on the "Dirty Dozen" design team over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I had not shared this on my blog.  I was cleaning out some photos and thought I would share it here today.

For this card I used a vintage image.  Isn't this woman just beautiful.  I stickled her dress which looks so pretty.  The corner black die cut is from Heartfelt Creations.  The rolled roses are a Spellbinders die.  I used some corrugated cardboard that has Gesso brushed on it.

Vintage Chocolate Covered Roses

 

Back in May when I was on the Dirty Dozen Design Team our theme was "Life is Like a Box of Chocolates.  I reached back into my roots of card making and came up with this Vintage little number.

How about some Vintage Chocolate with Chocolate Roses dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with sparkling sugar? Hummmm    I made my roses with the Spellbinders Rose Creation and used Picket Fence Crackle Paint and sprinkles with some pretty glitter to make them sparkle.

 

 Here is a picture of the card and nugget box I made as a gift set.  My intention was to send this to my Mother, but recently her Doctor told her that her sugar is too high.  She is all of 82 pounds, I just don't know if she will ever gain any weight back.

Tim Coffey Antique Roses

Have you ever bought something that you thought at the time was so pretty and then when you went to use it you didn't like it!!! Well, that happened to me with this Tim Coffey Special Punch Pad filled with gorgeous flowers. The trouble is, if you use the flowers as is and layer them, they have no "life". This is what happened to me while I was playing with these roses. I just didn't like them. So I took them apart, misted them with water, scrunched them up, let them dry, sponged distress tea dye ink all over them, put them together, and outlined them with Star Dust stickles. Now I love them. The next thing I tried was taking my dp, scrunching it up in a ball, then unfolding, and running a distress ink pad all over it. I like the results. I was going for a really vintage looking card. So I had a blast putting this together. I played along in the Technique Lovers Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. You are suppose to cut away part of your card along the edge. I cut away my card along the leaves. It is so pretty. I used the Spellbinders nesties, Martha Stewart deep edge punch, rhinestones, ribbon, star dust stickles, spellbinders die for the key, and rangers tea die distress ink. Fred She Said Lily of the Valley

Lilly of the Valley remind me of my Grandmother. My Gram had Lilly of the Valley growing in her garden every year. I can remember the beautiful fragrance of this flower like it was yesterday. I haven't seen Lilly of the Valley for years in anyone's garden. As a matter of fact, I don't think it can grow here in Georgia. This beautiful Lilly of the Valley is from the Fred She Said collection and can be found here.
I had a great time working with this ribbon. I usually do just a bow, but I was in the mood for something different sort of lacy and feminine. I colored my image with Copic markers. I used the Spellbinders fancy tag for embellishment and the border punch is from Martha Stewart. I distressed all the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool.
This is the inside of my card. I made the panel on the top to be removable so that you could include a picture with the card. I always think of things like that as my Mother lives so far away and that is nothing that makes a loved one happy as receiving a picture of the family.This is a side few to show the dimension of the ribbon. I attached it to the card with red line sticky tape. It was very easy.

Vintage St. Patrick's Day Angel for Mom

Greetings Bloggers and welcome to my blog. Today, I wanted to show you a card that I am sending to my dear Mother in Connecticut. I have been itching to do a Vintage inspired card for a while and thought this would be perfect for my Mom. She loves and collects Angels, so I know she is going to love this. Plus it was time to put some more of her new favorite chocolates in the mail since she has eaten the chocolates I had sent her for Valentine's day.

Here is a nice closeup of the Vintage Angel I found. I cut is out with Spellbinders Nestabilites Labels 13. I cut out to two Angels and popped it for dimension. All the edges are glittered. I just Distress Ink Antique Line on the edges that I distressed with my Tim Holtz distress toll. I dry embossed the white papers. The clover bling is from Micheal's. Some of the flowers I made and some are purchased. I don't remember where I got the Sentiment. I have had it for a few years and may have won it in an auction on ebay! I used the Martha Stewart Frond and Branch for accenting the flowers. On the top portion near the Angel I intertwined some flourishes that I cut with some spellbinders dies.Thank you so much for stopping by today. May a little luck of the Irish rub off on you today. MMSC77-"priscillastyles" Corset

Hi bloggers and welcome to this week's addition of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I use the "priscillastyles" corset image for my card this week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Challenges being held at Splitcoast Stampers called "Hope You Can Cling To". MMSC#47 Of Corset's Your Birthday

Here is my creation for this week's challenge. I am going to say I drummed up a bit of inspiration from Victoria Secret...can you tell!!! LOL Nothing like a Corset to offer us ladies some support in the derriere department. So, as you can tell, I am having a little fun with this one.The vintage picture on this particular card is made with the folded frame technique and embellished with lines of tiny pearls, mini roses, and the fan punch. I use a Martha Stewart Border Punch to create area that is laced up. I used the a spellbinders borderbilities for the lace on top. Rangers Tea Dye distress ink was sponged on all edges. This picture is a nice close up of all the details that I used to create this card. I just loved this Vintage Lady in her Corset. I layered her and used Crystal effects on the picture to make it look like a real glossy black and white photograph. Midnight Madness Challenge #38 Vintage Lady

Here we are with #38 for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. Today's card is a D'Amour Alure Rubber Stamp called Estella Vintage Lady and can be found here at McMahon Five Designs. I love vintage style cards and pulled out some of my vintage buttons I have been saving to create this.

My image was colored with pencils and blended. The image is a total of three layers that have been popped up. I stickled around the edges and added tiny rhinestones down each side of her lace placket. My buttons are the old fashion type that have metal shanks on the back. I sat at my craft table trying to figure out how I could manipulate them to attach on this card. So I got out my pliers and were able to compress the button so it would lie flat.
I felt that I wanted to take this card to another level. So I created a poem for the inside that I thought would reflect on the theme of the image. It goes like this:

One your Birthday,
Put on your fancy clothes.
Your trinkets and jewelry,
And paint your toes.
It's time to celebrate,
Your special day.
In your own stylish,
Classy, fashionable way.
So bring out the baubles,
Bangles and glitz.
For a Birthday Celebration,
fit for the Ritz!

Vintage Christmas Tree Card

Hi everyone!!! Today's card is a Vintage Christmas tree with lots of holly framing the image. Here, also, is one of my Boyds Bearstones.
A close up here to show the embossing and stitching and the little jingle bell on the bow.This is the inside of the card. I made a pocket to tuck in theater, movie, sport, or concert tickets....of course, CASH would always be nice too!!!! LOL

Todays: CHRISTMAS AT CAROL's HOUSE

Well you know I love bears....so expect to see lots of them. The garland around the fireplace is filled with small little bears tucked in the branches. Mr. and Mrs. Clause are animated and lit up. The dolls are from the Boyds Bear collection and are probably 10 years old now. There are more things that light up on the mantel, but they don't show in the photograph. Vintage Blue Background Santa with Gift Tags

Oooo, isn't this one yummy??? I love these colors and they were dictated to me by the background color behind this Santa. I couldn't resist more Snowflakes.....I love these Snowflakes. I promise I have made some from my other Spellbinders die...but these are still my favorite.This dp is from the Holiday K & Company Stack. I love each and every piece of paper and that stack too! Such pretty paper this year don't you thingk? Lots of stitching on this and I justed the Lattice Borderablities from Spellbinders too!I used Rangers Brick Red to distress ink around the edges on this. I told you i was getting into the inking didn't I!!! LOL Here is the inside of my card. I silver embossed this time. The trim around the red ribbon I used for the bow was the inspiration for that! I make this pocket to hold my tags.Here is a look at the back of my tag....notice my $1 stamp again. I think you will be seeing more of it....I love it.I had to tie some bows on these to make them frilly.....these are also glittered even if you can't see them too well in the picture.
This envelope was made to match the card. I even stickled the snowflakes on the envelope. Did I ever tell you I don't think there is a day I don't have glitter on me. I love glitter and find it everywhere. I don't think I am alone in this obsession as there used to stamping store down in St Marys I frequented that the owner purposely had glittered on the floor. I love it!!!I hope you have enjoyed visiting today. You know, I am really getting into "Vintage"....I think Priscilla over at Priscillastyles has rubbed off on me. I admired vintage for a long time before I tried it.....an now I think I am addicted. I plan on doing more. Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think, I sure would appreciate it.

Vintage Santa with Matching Gift Tags

Hi everyone. I thought I would treat you to one of my Santa's from my Boyds Folkstone Santa Collection. This one is called Electronick...LOL You may be seeing more of these in the future as I take pictures of my Christmas Cards. Isn't he cute. He is testing out the Christmas lights to see if they are working....can you relate to this? Sometimes I get frustrated and just go buy new ones!!!!I love vintage Santa's!!! Today's card is a wonderful right jolly ole elf! i did this with black accents which really brings out the red.Here is one of those feathers that I have found I love to use on my holiday cards. The corners are a sizzx die. I did stitching on this and the center die under Santa is the Spellbinders Pendant Die Lattice.Here's another closeup view of all the details. The Merry Christmas is actually a sticker.
The inside of the card has matching detail. I sewed this pocket to hold the matching tags I made.
I got this To/From stamp from the $1 bin at Michael's. I just love that stamp and have been using it a lot.The three tags fit nicely in the pocket and it doesn't make the card too bulky.This is the envelope I made and gold embossed with the same stamp that I gold embossed on the tags.

Vintage Santa With Bear Christmas Card

Hi everyone. I haven't done a bear for a while...so you know me...I had to find something with a bear to do today. I was feeling "Vintage" and pulled out this image and went to town putting it together.This sketch comes from the Sketch Challenge at Split Coast Stampers from Wednesday's challenge. I really liked the looks of it and had to try it with this lovely card. I crocheted this Poinsettia from a pattern that I made today. You will find the pattern for this in the post below this one. Please let me know if you tried it, if you liked it, or if I had anything incorrect or confusing. This shows the details of my card. I used crystal effects on the image and lots of layering. A Fiskar sunburst border punch was used as well as a sizzx die for the corner treatments. I used seed beads for the center of the Poinsettia as well as a bit of gold stickles. This shows the inside of my card. I crocheted another flower to match the front. The sentiment has been gold embossed.Here's one last picture to show all the details and layers.
