MMSC#63 Doris Mae Semi-Gatefold Card

Once again, it's "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between.

Enter one style or both this week.
Something a little different for me this week. I took the sketch to a different level. I made this almost like a gate fold card. I was influenced by this huge project I am working on that I will show at a later date. My image is from D'Amour Allure and is called Doris Mae. I chalked her and distress inked with tea dye.

I use lots of diamond stickles everywhere on this. I found this ribbon after Christmas in a bin at Walmart for 25 cents because it is not a traditional Christmas color and I think everyone steered clear of it. But I wish I had 100 yards I just love it.
Here is the inside of my card. It has many interactive parts with tags. If you care to see a closer look, you can view my video that shows all the parts of the inside of this card.
This is the card and the envelope made from the Priscillastyles kit found here. The following is a list of supplies

Paper- K & Company
Martha Stewart Punches: Corner Daisy, Border Daisy, Deep Edger Flower Bed
Cuddlebug: Embossing and Die Combo-ornamental iron, 2 x 2 Vintage die
From Micheal's - Rhinestones, pearls, roses, white flowers, heart charm
Rangers Tea Dye Ink, Diamond Stickles,

Here is the back of my envelope. I made a tie closure. My intention was for this to be a keepsake so I wanted the envelope to be a box for the card.

Card Measurements:
This is a 6 x 6 inch card-Cut a 12 x 12 sheet of card stock in half. on six inch side punch with your choice of border punches. Then score your card at 5 inches for the left side and 7/8 in for the right side. Cut a 3-1/2 x 6 inch piece of coordinating card stock and attach it to the right side of the card on the 7/8" flap. Cut a slit with an exacto knife a 1 inch slit at the 2-1/2 to 3-1/2" measurement on both sides of the 6" middle section. This is for your tie ribbon.

For the inside of course you middle section is 6 x 6--my pocket was cut at 2" x 5-3/4".

The right side of the card is 3-1/4 x 5-3/4 and I built the layers up from there subtracting 1/4" each time I added another paper. The Library pocket holds a 3-1/2" x 1-3/4" tag. I made the pocket with a 2-3/4 x 7 inch piece of paper. You can find a video on You Tube for that if you don't know how to make one. Just Google Library Pocket Tutorial.

The left side is a booklet cut at 5-1/4" x 6-1/2" then fold in half. The papers started at 3 x 5 inches on the bottom and subtract 1/4 ' for each additional layer. I cut a square 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" then cut it in half to make the triangle pockets. All my tags except the library pocket one are - 2 x 4 inches.

Just let me know if you have questions. I would be happy to help!

I was not really allowed to use the Doris Mae image this week because "someone else" was using it, but I had already made the card when Priscilla told me I could not use it. SO first I will therefor clear myself from all accusation of trying to be fab for making two cards - and second - Now I see why I really should not have done it. Your card outshines mine so much I have no words.

It's just amazing. I understand your need for more of that ribbon - it looks very pretty. Great job Carol - I love how you always decorate the insides to match the outside.

Carol, you know what I'm a gonna ask - HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO MAKE THIS CARD, INSIDE AND OUT AND THE MATCHING ENVIE????? You knock me off my feet every time I see a new creation by you. This is the most phenomenal piece of art girl. Your details are undescribable and I was toying with the idea of using that image and now I'm so glad I didn't as yours is so over the moon and back. Now, I can't use any of the images you've used - thanks a lot!! LOL!! You are, again, one talented lady and I SO ENJOY your incredibly beautiful creations!!

Carol, it is a good thing for your card making that you don't have a job, where would you find time to do all these elaborate creations. This is just AWESOME. Maybe you have it down to a science and don't take as long as it would take me to make something this wonderful (as if I could) work of art!!

I hope who ever ends up with this will cherish. Thank you also for showing off that wonderful matching envelope.
